Edit: You can't tell where it's sent from unless it says in the email.

I don't think an absolute location is possible, Idk about whether you could get the IP address from where it was sent from but with that you could probably get a rough location. Try looking around Google.

 

Dunno how it works in your contry, for here where I live you need to call police and request them to lookup your case so they ask mail provider for all they have about this email

You can get the IP from the email message header. Though if they were on a VPN then its pretty much useless.

Police will only get involved if a crime has been commited (for example harassment or child porn and such). And even then they'll go to the ISP themselves and get the name + address, they won't release that information to you.
