    Spark Chain Reaction?

So yesterday night I was doing some cable management around my desk and decided to plug my BenQ monitor onto the wall outlet since it was originally plugged on an extension cord. Upon doing so, for some reason, it sparked (i think because it touched with the metal extension cord outlet that was also connected to the wall) and the metal portion of the plug on the monitor was dented. I decided to plug it back on the extension cord and it turned on properly. However, none of the monitor ports would detect my computer tower.. it kept saying "no signal". I tried it via VGA, HDMI, and DVI and still wouldn't detect it. I brought the monitor to my friend's house to test it out and it didn't work for him either. Also, my GPU started to make a loud noise like a vacuum) and simply stopped working after I took it out and plugged it back in (the fan wouldn't spin) even after I used 3 different PCIE-slots, and one extra PCI-e Cable from the power supply. Could it be possible that the spark damaged my monitor ports, then traveled to my HDMI (which was connected at the time) which then damaged my GPU (since it was connected during the time the spark occurred)?

The PC of the computer tower was plugged into a separate wall outlet. Basically the PC is on the east wall on my room and the spark between the monitor cord and the extension cord outlet occurred in the north wall of the room.
