Dusting/cleaning out tower?

I've had my computer for almost 2 years now. Only opened the tower a few times (not big with keeping it updated with all the good stuff; it runs fine, my graphics/FPS are good, no need in my opinion), and I'm thinking I really should get in there and dust it out, I don't like turning my computer on in the morning, coming in my room and having the musty smell, because I know its from my computer. I was thinking of just taking it outside, hooking up my dads air compressor and blowing it out (we don't have the canned air, I looked). Is that the right thing to do, will it mess up any of my hardware, etc? Also, how often should I be doing this? Post anything else that relates to this if you want too!

There's a chance it could potentially displace or damage small components. However, not cleaning it out may result in overheating and glitches. It's really recommended you get canned air. Look below for a indepth guide to clean a tower;

Or use a vacuum. But be gentle, like with sex. Treat it right. lol. I used a vacuum on my old comp and my weener. worked fine. didnt damage anything but my honor.

You can go ahead and try, just be VERY careful and don't spray it too close, otherwise you may blow something off.

I wouldn't even experiment. Im sure it will be fine long enough for you to go to the store and get some canned air.
