    Diamond 5 elo

Hi everyone, so I have been Diamond 5 for a few months now, and I don't really enjoy playing anymore. Mainly because I have a low winrate, and I don't really know what to "main" as whatever it might be, it's most likely taking the next ranked game I join.

I've been boosting now and then, now yesterday my friend got demoted from Dia 4 to plat 1 due to inactivity, I decided to help him out and got him to dia series & lost them three times now. This really gives me the feeling like I am not even dia worthy.

I just get extremly upset whenever I lose a game (ranked one, don't really care for normals). I feel like my teammates always go even or below even (1-2 deaths) and it's up to the jungler to carry.

Whenever I see master/challenger people smurf, they have no issues in carrying up to maybe dia 4-3? They don't go even, they win and dominate the game. I want to know how to be able to do that.

The midlaner 'febiven' was streaming a few days ago and he was playing Ahri, one of my favorites, and honnestly all he was doing is playing passive and whilst he had nice farm, his team would set up ganks all he had to do was respond to them. The issue when I do that in Dia5 elo is that it's usually left to me to carry the game (either by getting fed or by helping someone get fed), believe it or not but febiven was doing neither & still doing great (in terms of cs & overall team kills).

Is it some kind of secret that I don't know about? The dia 5 wall seems so high I can't even start climbing it :(

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. (Preferably master+ elo)

Hey, I'm actually Diamond 5 as well and I can completely relate!

I got silver 1 end of season 4 and boosted to gold 5 for the rewards, and I was suprised when I kept winning over and over in season 5, I got to diamond 5 and decided to call it quits with a 60% win rate to guarantee I got the diamond border and not drop down to platinum and can't get back up.

I feel exactly the same, I tried out smurfing and it is extremely noticeable how hard and easy it is to carry, for example this gyazo shows my 52 win streak from bronze 5 to bronze 1 without loosing a single game on EUNE.

I believe that it is just down to how good you are, which you get from experience and practice. Your example of Febiven, sure it looks like he wasn't doing much but that's because he didn't have to, he almost certainly knows his limits and how to play to win lowish elo games every time, there is no need for flashy risky plays because that isn't needed. Do you remember what elo he was playing at from the steam you were watching?

When I smurf in high gold I feel I have a 50% win rate, and I feel that I don't deserve diamond much like how you feel. I rage super hard if I fail a flashy play or end up loosing and I get super salty, when I say I rage hard I mean kicking my chair across the room mid game and shouting in rage it has gotten that bad. If you think you tilt you don't even know ;)

Next season just play again on your main, you'll have your diamond border and there will be nothing to lose, you will find out your true skill level and you can improve on it by just playing over and over and trying to improve. You wouldn't have gotten to diamond 5 with a 50% win rate if you weren't any good my friend! :)

Thanks for taking your time to post :)

I was stuck in plat 3-2 for the longest time (I am talking months) but then I won maybe 13 games with maybe 3 losses just playing Ahri, and I skipped through plat 2, plat 1 in just a few days.

I have gotten smurfs up to plat 4-3 without MUCH hassle (and I notice the skill level difference in low/mid plat) but then I get these days where I play like complete shit and just lose all my lp again.

I don't rage at all, really, I might flame a teammate or two but nothing else (except that I keep thinking about how annoying the loss was, which bothers me.)

I think febiven was playing in high elo when I watched his stream. IMO, the game I watched him play ahri he got completly carried by his team.

I have been thinking to get some coaching from example a high master/challenger player, the annoying part is that it's maybe 20$/h which is way too expensive.

I am not sure what exactly I do wrong, maybe it's something small or something major but clearly there is. I feel like my mechanics are my strongest part (I enjoy playing champions like Lee Sin, Riven, Yasuo, Zed. Although I only play them in normals not in ranked.)

I don't think you should be afraid to play champions like Lee, Riven, Yas and Zed in ranked if you're any good at them. I get flamed all the time for being a 'riven main' but I don't care, since I have a 69% win rate over 100+ games which got me to diamond :)

I don't think (paid) coaching is the way to go, sure if you can speak to some higher elo players ask them a few questions and get some guidance but trust me it's not worth paying for, you can find what they will say in videos such as pants are dragons video how to be challenger (I think it was by him anyway) where he just says everything a 'coach' would tell you for FREE!

I am almost certain it's down to your mind set and experience, just play the game more and your skill will improve I guarantee it :)

I know it probably sounds stupid, but flaming a teammate has quite a bit of impact on the game - after making a mistake the last thing I need to see in chat is a teammate flaming me, just puts me on tilt.
You can't control other people being mentally weak, but you can help out by not flaming them and trying to put a positive spin on things.
Ultimately, all of your team members have the same goal as you - to win the game.

I actually have the opposite mindset sometime, whenever someone is trolling I try to be nice to them so they might stop trolling and play the game, and if someone just sucks or has a bad game I get pissed at them. I usually just do /mute all though, it helps a lot.

Probably a bit counter intuitive, I found on my main that when I played and flamed team mates (constructively, saying why they were sucking) it actually ended up working out most of the time, which I believe is why my win rate shot up so much.

I'm not saying flame, but maybe suggesting ways to improve in a nice way could work a charm :)

    Damn that's weird haha.

I mean I watch videos, but as I feel like I'm a special case, some individual feedback from an actual coach would be nice.

It's shit that costs so much.

Diamond 2 player, Honestly it's best to one trick in high elo (i'm one of those brutal rengar mains all adc's hate). Also I duo with a riven main and tend to camp his lane pre 6 get him ahead then all my ults go bot lane at 6 so I have most of the lanes ahead + i'm snowballing myself. It gets harder the higher you get, try to find a ccompetent duo you synergize yourself really well with and also try to find your one trick that you can play well/outstanding every game.

It's funny because I actually had a 'rengar main' account, got it to plat 3 then started losing again and got demoted back to plat 4. I feel like my mechanics in all roles (except support) are pretty good. I've mastered most of the hard champs to attleast a decent level & know a lot of tricks about the game. I think my 1) Laning phase is lacking and 2) Decision making.

I've played in a ranked team as a midlaner and we pretty much destroyed them as my team would make the calls I just needed to followup, we got pretty high in that team.

With rengar especially, I usually get these insane scores but end up falling off lategame as the higher you get the more for example support will pinkward vs you aswell as the jungler etc.

I just got to the point where I've played so much league and I don't really know how I could improve..

Sounds to me like he is just focusing on csing whilst waiting for the opponent to make a mistake. Approximately ~15 cs is the equivalent to 1 kill in terms of gold. In league having a gold and experience advantage is huge. Simply take advantage of the moments while playing your champion(s) as flawlessly as you can and having good game knowledge helps. The more you play a champion the more experience you will have (hopefully) against all sorts of different champions. So I suggest picking two to three champions for each lane that you can play flawlessly (or as perfect as possible). I suggest you picking whichever role you find the most fun to main as.

The problem is that if I try and play it out passivly and focus on cs the enemy might snowball and my cs becomes useless.. I've been really having issues finding a balance between those two.

With the new changes...now might not be the best time to try and adjust your playstyle. I'd see how everything pans out before I commit to dedicating myself to improving something (like cs for example) that may end up being less relevant than other things because of the changes.
