[drama] Sept SCAMQUIT

There's an inherent problem with this website in that there's no risk to the scammer when he or she feels like scam quitting. When somebody doesn't feel like using Sythe anymore, he or she doesn't have value vested into his or her account so there is only gain to be made by scam quitting. It takes a real piece of shit to do this, but there needs to be a cost to the scammer otherwise shit like this will keep happening. Just my two cents.

Sythe tried that by having the SVU but ultimately there are so many ways around it, (e.g using a fake paypal, buying a $2 simcard etc..)
Unless there was some sort of ID check I doubt there's much Sythe can do to enforce any rules to "scare" people from scam quitting.

Yeah I figured as much, however, it's a very big problem with the website at the moment. If people like Sept think the website is dying and have no incentive to participate anymore, what's his cost in scamming? I feel that more users will succumb to this sort of behavior when they feel like quitting the website.

In the end, you're either a good person or a bad person. The good people take the SRB and move on while the bad people will scam quit for as much as possible. The only difference in cost between the two is morality.

 

Oh please here comes the "spies" using all of his emails they can find to locate his Facebook. Let it go... if someone honestly got hurt because they were stalking down these scam quilters what would be worst? Runescape gold or someone's life?

Unless you plan to take legal action which I don't even know is possible for virtual items don't be a vigilante. So annoying.

With DNT now being freely available, it makes me think people feel more "comfortable" to scam quit because they can still be part of the community even after scamming. I'm not trying to say it's completely DNTs fault as I believe DNT can bring a lot of activity to the site but there are also problems such as the above.

That may be the case, but with Sept I feel his deterioration in activity level or the past months shows that he was ready to be done with the website. So he could have either scam quit or just moved on and never touched the site again. He chose to scam quit. Maybe he will decide to come back as a DNT user one day, but Sythe mentioned something with punishment being proportional to amount scammed, and I think with what Sept scammed, he won't be eligible for a DNT for a LONG time.

 

Is there a time frame from when scams occur to when DNT becomes available? Such as a year wait?

 

As Admires stated, there is a punishment frame (3-6-12 months etc..) but it's still the fact he can come back and pretend to be remorseful when he's bored and be involved in the community with no real punishment.

 

Gotta make an example of the scammers some how lol

 

I think someone named mootrucks would be caught easily.
