Dragon Defender vs. DFS

I have used both of these off-hand items and I understand that while the DFS gives the higher str bonus and much higher defence bonus (when charged). However, the drag defender offers a great deal of accuracy stats and a pretty high strength bonus. The defender is free and the DFS is around 5-6m, take this in to account.

What do you prefer?

 

Dragon Defender.

I prefer accuracy over defense. It gives 1 less Strength bonus than a DFS. If I wanted defense I would use Barrows gear.

Edit: I also prefer Ardougne cape over my fire cape when using a rapier. I choose a +6 stab bonus over a +4 strength and +1 stab. But Ardy cape also offers good prayer bonus.

Thing is, I can afford all that fancy gear, Divine, Torva and whatnot. I choose to stick to Bandos, sometimes even barrows. +1 strength bonus adds like 10 damage to your critical, which isn't much. I am not really a big fan of high strength. I'd also choose a warrior ring over a berserker any day, not to mention its price.

 

Dragon defender, because it makes you hit ALOT more often, and the defence bonus of the DFS is kinda useless unless your doing major boss hunting, because armour like bandos and torva are usually plenty of defence already.

yep ddefender is just that much better and saves you that 6m

 

i bought dfs and ended up selling it right away. Its not worth it in anyway shape or form in my mind. Ddefender is the offhand king and its free

i don't really ever see a time when i would prefer DFS, maybe a CKS or divine/ely, but almost never a DFS

I'd never use a DFS UNLESS I didn't have Super Antifire Potions for Dragons...

 

Dfs is a great alternative to an elysian or divine or chaotic kite shield whilst tanking a boss like bandos and they are only 4m and kite handy to have in the bank and not really a bank breaker...

 

Dfs is only useful for skeletal wyverns in my opinion.

 

Dragon Defender. Personally it looks cooler, it's free, and it increases your accuracy greatly.
DFS is good when it comes to tanking if you do not have enough gp or the defense level for a better shield.

defender is way better, and plus the obby shield has more defence bonuses than the DFS so why waste an extra 6M?
