If you post on a thread 2 times before 8 hours its up, its excessive bumping?

Unless you're answering a question or something of that sort, then it is considered excessive bumping. I believe you're also allowed to post confirmation if requested by the second trader.

However, quoting posts and saying, added, thanks, more in stock, or anything like that, it will be considered a bump and you can be infracted.

 

If you are participating in a discussion, then you will not be infracted. It would only be considered bumping if it was on say a market thread of yours. If you are answering questions, participating in a discussion, or giving insight on a topic, then it is not considered bumping and you are free to post as much as you want, so long as it doesn't fall under the spam rule.

 

This basically only encompasses posts like "Bump" "Thanks" and "Added"
Real discussions don't count

 

Your not allowed to post within 8 hours of each post, especially if the thread is found in the market section, this includes posting confirmation if requested by the second trader. Instead, use the private messaging system. (If the thread is not found in the market section, and you are simply answering a question or something along those lines, you will be fine)

To clarify -

Excessive bumping**: Posting twice in a row if 8 hours has not yet passed including if you delete your previous post (Bumps made by users other than the owner are considered spam). Replying to a customer's post with "thanks," "added," or anything of that nature before 8 hours has passed also counts as excessive bumping.

Well if the buyer/seller asks you specifically to post on your thread saying "I'm talking to you on MSN," as well as some of the conversation AND requests a PM, I have to say no?

 

Just make the post. Encouraging customers to take safe precautions should come first. Customer safety should come first and any rule that makes it hard to do so should be adjusted accordingly.

Tbh i'd take an infraction for posting confirmation to a sale thats going to make me a lot of profit. How sketchy would I sound if I declined their request?

 

My thoughts exactly, but I spoke to Karl, he said that confirmation is fine, but confirmation such as "added" or "talking" doesn't suffice.

I guess something like,

"Posting confirmation as requested by 'X', I am currently speaking to you on MSN about 'X' amount of money. My MSN: [email protected]"

is Ok.
