Dota 2

Hello, I am currently making this post to request a specific spot for the video game Dota 2. Dota 2 is a massively popular online MOBA [ Other examples, League of Legends, Smite, Heros of Newerth ]. I am currently a 5.5k mmr* player in this game Dota and would love a section where i can offer my services to boost accounts, or offer training lessons for people to improve there skill.

I have been using sythe for a long time and I've carried it through me via my runescape phase. Now that I've quit runescape for some long time i would love to stick with this community and become more active via a different part of the forums. Would we be able to have a section on the forums just like League of Legends has just for Dota2.

Maybe the section Steam sales for it? DotA 2 is popular and it has a bigger playerbase than CSGO, CSGO has its own section. However Dota isn't popular on Sythe for some reason. Most player either CSGO or LoL, enough for each to have its own section. Anyway I'd post the service there, and who knows, if DotA 2 picks up, it may have its own section and market.

 

Okay, i mean i would love to innovate or start a new part on sythe that can bring two things that i love so dearly close together. I'll make my post!

Dota 2 isn't immensely popular on Sythe.
If that was the case a subsection for it would probably be added in a heartbeat.

 

This one is a difficult to decide. Yeah, its not very popular to Sythe, but since it already has a huge player base, making a section may draw people to sythe and may increase its popularity here. Just a thought though, I don't play the game either way.

I feel that Sythe should at least have a section for "Other Moba's" in the way that they have a section for "Other MMO's"

 

Strong support for this. Maybe part of the reason why there's not much dota threads on this forum is because there's no specific section for it so ppl thought there's not much dota players in sythe hence not starting a thread about it here.

Why not just add the subsection, and remove it if it proves to be unpopular? Or does adding/removing a subsection takes so much effort that it should only be done if it's certain that it will be popular?

I support it. I think anything to broaden the market and the community is a nice breath of fresh air.

 

Good to see the lessons Im taking are paying off.

I feel like it should start like CSGO did with its own market in the Steam sales section. If it does well, then a discussion would be nice too. CSGO has a pretty active market but its discussion isn't anywhere close to as active.

 

I almost feel like it isn't very active because there isn't a whole lot to discuss about an FPS. There is a million things to talk about in Runescape because there's a million things that you can do, same with most MMO's.

I understand this is a bit of an ignorant opinion though because I'm not too familiar with cs:go, the market or the pro scene, I'm just someone that plays it on Steam from time to time.

A big market does not always equate to exertion in regards to discussion about the game itself. FPS games are clear cut, and while discussion may appear to be exponential in other forums, the discussions itself are monotone and remain static when it comes to variety (maps/guns).

 

Until there is more activity on Sythe for Dota 2, there's not going to be a subsection for it.
