None of the Donation threads have it stated anywhere their current bond with Sythe (Matthew). I feel it's imperative for it to be clearly stated somewhere in the OP, what the current bond is.

Once they are fully established and are known to be reliable (not saying the new Donation providers are not; better to be safe that sorry) then the bond amount can be deleted or whatever is preferred.

Providers such as RSU/Dave/TBT are well known, trusted, reliable and have already handled $1000's in Donations, and hence whether or not they have it stated is irrelevant to me, and I'm sure other users as-well. However I feel the new providers such as Nerfed/Expato should clearly state their current bond. Not only can it have negative effects for the user donating, but it could lead to other issues, one being; user donates more than the current bond in RSGP, bond needs to be re-updated with Matthew, Donation provider holds RSGP, gets wiped. Problem on our hands.

tl;dr, read it.

Oh god, [Trusted '08 Member] I better use him now.

I am still not sure why people still add their join date as a marketing technique. Especially people who process donations. It just makes you look bad. Like seriously?

But yeah OT - Matthew should post on the thread to verify the value of the bond so people don't accidentally provide more and lets not think what may happen, not saying it may.

This, if they claimed their bond was bigger than it actually was, then they should be removed from having a bond, as most of them only do it for trust/a bit of profits.

Agree with this, as you said it wouldn't be needed for people like TBT but for the less trusted holders then yes, it would be useful.
'Trusted '08 member'... That's a bit ridiculous isn't it?

Nothing against nerfed and this other guy, but yeah, that's true, people responsible for donation bonds should be more trusted

I don't think you understand what I'm talking about...

I'm referring to bonds being stated, not that they cant offer their services..

Are you looking for the bonds to be regularly updated? And if so, how long until we won't have to update it? Because if I have to consistently deposit $100, $200, $300, etc... in order to even accept donations, then that gets just a little frustrating.

I do have other uses for my money other than keeping it in a pretty much void, Sythe bond deposit. I would prefer to add funds when there is interest in donating via my service, because quite frankly, Dave/RSU/TBT have dominance in servicing Sythe donations, and I can guarantee that in comparison to their thread traffic, Nerfed and I will be lucky enough to get just a few donations per month.

Heres the thing, these bond holders may be new but they obviously have a bond with Matthew. They aren't just sending Matthew money after people pay, they have collateral so I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed.

I know Nerfed is a good kid, I've been helping him alot and mentoring him on sythe to keep his head straight.

Obviously they have x amount of money already sent so what's the big deal. As long as they keep it up they will have a bond so people are safe.

If someone send $100 for a bond people assume they can collect money but they don't know how much. Assume someone has sent $100 bond but instead collects $500 of donations and runs off with the money, it would be Matthew being held responsible since they donated the funds to a verified service. Its not hard to update the amount remaining on the bond after each transaction because it literally takes 2 minutes to edit a post.

Also it seems anyone can get a bond and this could eventually become a bigger problem than it has to be.

Also a person who lies about his lifestyle, family, education, profession and much more can easily lie about how much money he is allowed to collect.

People are completely misunderstanding what the OP is about. It's hardly anything to do with trust.

ALL I'm saying is, whatever the CURRENT bond is, it should be stated in the donation providers OP. So people know.

E.G, Nerfed has $100 Bond left with Matthew, hence $100 is stated in his OP.

Hypothetically, someone could have an actual bond of $200. Someone could be wanting to donate $600. OP runs off with profit.

Edit: Punjabi covered it.

What SellerMan is trying to address is that Matthew or another GMOD clearly specifies what the bond is. If staff can confirm the amount the individual has within their bond with Matthew fewer complications arise.

Eg. Lets say I open a donation service. I pay 80 dollars to Matthew for the bond, then start taking payments for donations which exceed my bond. Then I may just magically disappear. Catch my drift?

The post by staff is to prevent members of the community sending money to the users which exceed their current bond. So for example, someone wants 2 $50 donations from me, yet I have only given Matthew $80, yet on the thread nothing is stated of how large my bond is. I can just take that $20 and go away.

Do you see where we are coming from now?

I get that, but if Matthew approves a person to be a bond holder, obviously they had to send him some money, maybe an open list in the "bond holder" list would help. Saying like:

TBT - $500
Dave -$200
Ect.

So if you want to make a $300 donation you could use someone who actually has that in a bond to donate rather than have to wait until they send more money to Matthew. I know when I donated with Spyike he always made sure I knew how much he had left in a bond so I wouldn't do too much at once.

That's what I'm saying bro, and what I'm suggesting. The bond should be stated in the donation providers OP.

I agree but the running total can go up/down pretty fast. But then seeing other people it seems they don't think newer people are trusted.

Like I said maybe on the donor page a running total of what they have in bond could be easily done I'm sure.

But then that total will have to be updated on a fairly frequent basis lol. It never ends.

I get what Sellerman is saying, but if it is just for us new Bond holders, then at what point can we stop updating the bond amount? I'm just not comfortable with having to deposit, say, $500, and then receiving barely any traffic to my thread. Like I said, I have better uses for my money (I invest on the real market and have bills to pay). As much as I am dedicated to Sythe, I don't want to restrict my money to a void deposit, awaiting reimbursement.

Well I have done like 65 $ in donations and I really didnt request to be a bond holder for trust I think its something fun to do and no I didnt lie about my family, if you dont want to donate through me then dont !!!! If Matthew would like for all of the bond holders to post there bonds in there thread then so be it because I dont get much traffic on my thread I only really upload 50-65 $ a week into my bond amd more as needed

@OP I really dont get the point, but it can be done.

I currently have a negative balance in my bond (I owe Matt). If someone wanted to donate $300 I could still cover it.

But I'm sure it's not so easy for them, I support that they state it.

This. I didn't lie about my family or lifestyle, and did not do this for trust either. I only plan on depositing when necessary.

And this. Nice balance tux ;) But same thing here...if someone wanted to donate X dollars, I would most likely be able to cover it. If I couldn't, then I would tell them.

Sellerman I see where you're coming from, but IMHO, this just seems like a rant more than a suggestion (since the plausibility of implementing such a system would be moot).
