    New Computer Chair.

I'm thinking about buying one of those gaming chairs (DxRacer, Maxonomic etc)

I currently have an Ikea chair that cost me about $80 and it has 0 back support. It's starting to get to the point where if i sit on the chair for any bit longer than 30 minutes it starts to hurt my lower back.

Any suggestions on a chair to buy? Is dropping $400 on a gaming chair worth it? I'm mostly looking for a chair that'll keep me seated upright and give me lumbar support while sitting for 3-4 hours every day.

    I'm currently 6'3 240 lbs

Any suggestions or experience with gaming chairs would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My roommate has a DXRacer, considering he spends at least 6 hours everyday in that chair (University work, games and general browsing), he says the cost is definitely worth it when you think about it. I've sat down in his chair before and it feels reasonably comfortable, but he insists that over the long term his back already feels a lot better and that he's definitely happy with his investment.

I'd probably say that if you plan to spend an excessive amount of time in the chair, the investment will probably pay off.

I just recently got a DXRacer King series KS57/NG and i paid $450 for it..

It is comfortable, the back rest you have to play with and the tilt and angles you want won't come instantly to your liking, it's a chair you have to break in and really mess with, be gentle on the mechanical arms that adjust raising the chair/angling the seat as the insides of them do tend to "strip"

all in all, im 6'6 and roughly 330 lbs and i use the chair at its max height and it's been much better than an ordinary chair+ the warranty you can't beat it.

I hope this helps, any other questions just PM/add me on skype

i use an ergonomic chair (kinda like the one sythe posted about in the sf) at work, and it's honestly great. no idea how gaming chairs compare, but it's totally worth $500 or $1000 imo

For "gaming" chairs I recommend dxracer. I bought the OH/KF06/NB

It didn't strike me as incredibly comfortable at first, but I quickly got used to it.

Really high quality materials, good for posture, comfortable pillows. Everything is adjustable. You can move around the arm rests, pillows, height of the chair, and you can even control how stiff the spring is when leaning back.

If you're just looking for a high end office chair I can't give any suggestions.

The difference between gaming chairs and high-end office chairs imo really isn't extremely noticeable - you could be saving yourself a few hundred bucks by going for one of those instead.

Don't have a specific recommendation for an office chair, just use the ones that are in my building :p

I sit on the floor with a huge coffee table with three monitors.. I really need a chair/table lmao. I used to have a nice ergonomic office chair and it was AMAZING. No point wasting $400 when you can get a sweet one for $70.

You get what you pay for, if you're sitting for a good portion of the day you want to invest in something quality. Chairs that are only rated for 2-4 hours can actually do damage to your back and posture if you're working longer than that.

It doesn't matter if you choose a "gaming" chair, or a more professional looking office chair. As long as it has long rated hours, quality materials, nice looks, and a good warranty.

You can expect a good chair to last at least 5 years. That's 1825 days. Around $0.20/day if you buy something in the $400 range. If you're working 8 hour days, you're paying 1/4 of a cent per hour. Whatever you're doing to make money will easily cover that :p

I use a wooden chair. I don't really give in to all those "fancy" overpriced chairs. As long as I'm supported, I'm fine.

I'd definitely go with a DXRacer if I were you. Designed and optimized for gaming purposes.
