Does the vouch system work?

I have noticed people giving everyone vouches just for the hell of it or for no reason at all. This is displayed very clearly on this thread http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=243186

Now this means that you don't even have to do anything at all so really, sythe is just ending up with more scammers and the scammers are getting an easy ride to the big stuff.

What do you think about the vouch system?

 

Generally i used the vouch system for people i completed MMs for to post in saying it went smoothe. I also got some respected members to post too to show trust. Vouches however, should NOT be used as the sole reason to believe you can trust someone.

 

anyway,if you have lots of vouches in your MMing application bigger chances you'll be official i believe

 

No, you are completely wrong. You get official by completing trades NOT by winning the popularity contest of vouching.

 

Exactly. However, i think that the system needs to be re-done. I think that we should have an option in User CP to vouch for someone. And you know, when you hover over someone's name a list with options appear? Well there would be a "see vouches" option, where you could check for vouches. then people could not steal vouches.

 

lets pretend its like this
person A done all required trades 25/25 with say like 60 vouches
person B done all required trades also 25/25 BUT have 120 vouches
who do you think have bigger chance of winning?

 

Vouches can be power. I only vouch people who i honestly trust. I don't want them to misuse it.

 

I think that it works at least if you only trust vouches from members that you would trust. I would trust people with admin/mod/official mm vouches, but somebody with 100 run-of-the-mill members vouching them.

Whats wrong with the vouche system? Hmmm...I guess someone could cheat on a vouche by quoteing it. Like what I mean is when you quoute someone all these numbers come up. Well that stands for there username. Well,,,,,,,,,,they could change the wods saying vouche trusted guy. So...we kind of need a new vouche system. I know the right one but I will not share it at the moment.

 

I agree it is too easy to get vouches. no ideas how to fix it though ;/

 

lol its not a system, its just common kniowlage to let ppl know that the trade went well or not, its not like sythe created it, there needs to be another type of system though. I think there should be user notes that official mm put up after trades

 

First off, there is no vouch system, vouches mean nothing. To people who they do mean something, they shouldn't. Vouches first got started when there was and still is a single vouch from a trusted or vet of sythe is what you needed to complete the final step in your MM app. Then people went overboard, and obviously, it's led to what you see today.

 

exactly, people are just giving vouches to people hoping they vouch back for free vouches...doesnt mean a thing.

 

Maybe add a part in your profile wich says how many vouches you got for serious reasons?

 

No they dont.. To many noobs just go and grab others vouches. Which i HATE!
