Does PS3 Reformatting Erase Online Data?

[AnarchyRocker]

Ok, so I've run into a little problem with my PS3 and I need to reformat the hard drive, will this cause me to lose my online data? (E.G: Call of Duty stats, Rankings). I have all my game data backed up, but PLEASE DEAR GOD DONT LET ME LOSE MY ONLINE DATA!!! (RANKED 7TH ON COD:WAW PSN LEADERBOARDS) :'(

You will not lose any online data, erasing the harddrive doesn't erase any memory card either, it will only erase your options and other preferences. found this on Google.
