Does anyone play Go?

Well, Go is a logical game that originated in China, and spread throughout Korea and Japan. It is much like Chess, Checkers, etc and requires a great deal of thought and concentration. I have only recently started playing it, and I've grown fond of it.

Basically, it is played with different coloured stones on a typical (though not-always) 19x19 board. Black plays first. You must surround your opponent's stones, and you gain points according to however many stones you surround. Once the stones have been surrounded, they are removed from the board. Note that the stones must be exactly surrounded with no spaces for them to count as points, and diagonal doesn't count - the stones are connected via the lines only.

The game ends only when the set time is up, either player resigns, or there is no more logical moves and hence, the game ends and the score is counted.

I've heard of it, but I've never played it because I'm nto very good at it

I believe I read about it in some magazine,
never understood it though.

 

I read an anime once called Hikaru No Go, it was interesting, you should read it. It explained the basic rules..
