Are you happy with Sythe's existing themes, or do you want a new one? Please be honest.

 

I know I'm new and possibly don't have much of a say in the matter, however, i don't mind the current theme.

Newcomers might like the current theme, but those of us who have used it for years don't want just a shitty background/logo change.

 

If there was an example to compare with, it would be more to consider.

You don't need anything to compare it with. Either you love the current theme, or you think something else would suit it better.

You're new though so you're new to this theme AFAIK.

I support a new theme, but not a competition to acquire one.

I would suggest just hiring a theme designer - find someone who has made themes before and get one custom made. I just don't think asking the community to design the theme will either have the same response as last time, nor will it produce as good a result.

The difference between designing a background or a homepage and designing the whole theme is immense - especially with the number of custom plugins we have installed.

 

I dont really care if we have another theme or not tbh. The theme is not really important to me. I just wanna do my things on sythe so i dont care but sure if you guys want one better

 

Would it be possible to implement that sleek vb4 theme? I really liked the feel of that one.

 

I voted yes. And I don't see the problem with holding another competition; if someone does not want to put in the work for potentially no reward then they just don't enter, but there will be some that are willing.

 

A new whole look to Sythe eh? Yes for sure.

 

by that logic then, we are stuck with whatever design the guy makes, and have to pay him for it, even if we don't like it.


honestly a competition and/or putting it to a community vote is the best option.

I'm actually totally fine with the current theme.
We've had it for since forever and I've never had a problem or urge or a different one.
BUT! There is absolutely no problem or hassle in adding another theme, and it's always really great to have options to match everyone's tastes.

So a big yes! Why not?!

 

The current theme doesn't really match what I picture sythe and its content "trading". I would prefer a cleaner logo however, I do not really mind the backing because it blends nicely within the bulletin colour (Soz for messed up wording).

Nevertheless, I just like the idea of keeping it simple and professional.

EDIT: Also as YohoJoSRL said; it doesn't really effect me (the current one) but its not a problem if we have another batch of submissions.
