I do agree as for the first one, if they've scammed and there's proof etc.

Lol, scamming in Runescape and they should be banned? That's retarded. It's pixels. you aren't paying for a RS account. It's like banning someone for Luring someone in RS2...

    and this^

I agree with you on the first one.

But on number two do you really think a mod vote is necessary? It was on runescape 6 years ago. Maybe it was for luring? that's technically scamming. Do you really think someone who lured in runescape 6 years ago is of any risk to the users here at sythe?

Do not ban for offsite activities...

Its actually the truth. Under the current, kinda unwritten rules, I should be banned.

I believe that anyone that is found to have done things that are against Sythe rules before they came to Sythe and have not done any of those things on Sythe they should not be banned.

That makes perfect sense as its a danger to allow them to have an account on Sythe that can get trusted, as their character shows that they will just scam.

    You mean like past?

Current or past? I'm confused. Maybe I should have made two threads. Ohwell.

Real life analogies suck. Honestly. Lol.

Phishing through PM's is a bannable offense. Just wait for them to do it here. It takes like 3 seconds to make an account to do it on. Guests can gather MSNs.

I'm not going to lie.. You annoy me to no end.

They aren't stealing any real money. They're pixels. It isn't a trading site and if someone was dumb enough to get lured, or not check the 2cd trade screen; it's their fault.

It is, but if someone falls for it it's simple as deleting the PM.
Yes, guests can gather Msn's, but 95% of the time the person that was added asks for the Sythe name. Random people that aren't part of Sythe don't often add you.

Edit: Also, what Deacon said.. Bannable offense, different site, during time on Sythe, still be banned for it.

For case 1, I meant that they scammed maybe a year or two ago. Sorry I wasn't clear.

    Does that change anyone's opinions?

People get banned for spreading phishing links all the time. No one would risk a trusted Sythe account for it. Gathering MSN's is easy. Just look at Sythe and add them.

Depending on how big this scam was.
If it's a pin, I can see them coming to Sythe with a TwC.
While if it was a big trade,($400 for Blue Phat etc.) and just took the hat and ran, they shouldn't be able to come. That shows they don't really have morals on stealing $400 from someone.

Yes, people do often get banned for spreading Phishing links, but why risk Sythe members being phished when they're already known phishers.

As for the Msn's I said this originally for a person to get IP's. In order to grab an IP you either use an IP grabber, or someone along those lines. You can do this via Msn Games, sending a file, etc.

I didn't read that correctly, I had thought he meant scamming over forums not as a method of luring/other trade scams. Hell i'll admit I used the Needle GP stack scam back in classic on other people.

Second: Annoy you? I don't really give a fuck.

What is banning them going to do? They are a leecher. Not trusted. They will just make another account, and they will get smarter and won't get caught this time.

You can apply it to a $200 account trade scam if you wish. 4-6 years ago. By a highly trusted staff member.

I see your point; I just don't see why they should be allowed into the community either way.

    Youmadbro?

The thing is, you have to take a step back to see what a ban really accomplishes. Why ban someone if it will make no difference? If the leecher is a scammer, they will vade and scam someone. Banning the first account made no difference. If they are no longer a scammer, then they could go on to be a great member. There really isn't a point to banning them.

Again i feel it depends on the situation, if they were banned from powerbot tuesday for scamming 200$ then came to sythe wednesday what's to stop them from scamming?

They could but it doesn't mean they will, does it? At least if they vade there is a chance you'll catch them again, and just ban them again.

I mean not like a day. A day before Sythe basically equals during their time at Sythe.

By this logic there is no point in banning scammers who scam present day.
