[Denied] DNT shouldn't be allowed on spam forums (including discord main channel)

No support, you need to review why people are tagged with DNT, it seems you do not understand the reasons for DNT. I highly recommend you read Understanding the DNT (Do Not Trade) rank. The current method is give DNT til the "water" (water meaning several things in this case) is cleared (to protect others). Maybe there needs to be another tag other than DNT as the label itself seems a bit counter intuitive, but that is beside the point.

 

Yea.. As in you’re the dirty water that needs to be cleared so you’re DNT.


Another reason why DNT’s shouldn’t be allowed on the forums period. Allowing them to view members (victims) and give input is ridiculous. We’re basically feeding these guys by allowing them into the Discord and on the forums.

If you want to give them access to something let them view the dispute threads and their original RAS post. Don’t let them see who’s new or who’s online etc.

 

And how would you suggest working around them simply logging out to "find new victims" DNT users are users who wish to come back to the community after they have either scammed or make peace with what they did in the past, the DNT rank acknowledges the fact that people do indeed change, so why should someone who is making a genuine effort to change be shoo'd away from participating in the community of spam forums or introduction forums etc. The idea behind it may be in good intention but the isolation of users will just lead users to belive they can't change.

Bingo. I'm the case study here. I've been on Sythe for the better part of a decade and a half. I made a bad-practice/lack of judgement mistake that led to me to my first ever report/DNT. I could have scam-quit & really screwed a lot of people. However, not everyone that has a DNT is a villain. The real villains will ALWAYS find a way to work the system whether that be simply logging out to find victims, creating evader accounts, etc.

The DNT system is NOT intended as a punishment. The preceding ban (length decided on by staff) is the punishment. In severe cases, that ban is permanent. Someone who has a DNT, more often than not, is not looking for their next victim. They're someone who has been re-allowed back onto the forums because staff members feel that they've done their time & the gamble is a safe one. If someone is still seen as a threat, hypothetically, they won't ever get to the DNT stage (although we don't live in a perfect world).
Again, most of the arguments for this suggestion are not logical as scammers can find victims by simply logging out.

 

I get what you mean, as many of them are just literally getting to the point you want to shoot yourself to get away.

Problem we face is Sythe is a free open market, despite their problems they are still allowed a place to speak (or it should be the same with the spam forums here too, along with other sub sections) although I do feel if it isn't already implemented, they should remove the looks of other sub sections in the discord sections too.

 

DNT was added as a way to integrate yourself back in to the community, being in Discord does that.

As for the "people are indirectly trading" then that's up the mods to punish said user.

 

I don't agree with restricting the usergroup all together though removing users from the discord who have a debt due to a scam report (including those with a DNT) sounds good to me.
