DIY Account

I got extremely bored of RuneScape, so I'm starting a DIY account. A DIY account is an account where you don't trade with other players or use the G.E., everything you need you have to get for yourself. I had a question though, is using someone else's house alter considered breaking the DIY "rules"?

 

Cool idea haha, No i don't think using someone's house breaks the rules because they arent acutally giving you anything. Im assuming its for prayer or whatnot its just another tool

If it's purely DIY (playing as if you are the only one there) you should build your own house with an altar

 

DIY would be no interaction with other players on that kind of level. They may not be giving you a product, but they are providing you a service in a way by letting you use their house.

So, to answer your question more directly, yes using someone's altar would be breaking your DIY ways.

If you look on RSOF you may be able to find a clan, or a group of players who play RS like this as well. I'm not positive about that, I just know that you aren't the first person to decide to do this... there are many other players out there who play RS this way and quite enjoy it

As for the alter, I think according to your rules, you'd have to create an alter for yourself.

 

I personally can't find how this is fun, but from what I heard using houses is against the rules...

 

I'll make a progress thread when I get home, I'm not an amazing player so it won't be the most interesting thing.

It's fun because it's how the game was meant to be played. I don't think buying all the supplies to get 99 and then grinding the same skill for hours straight is fun. I think it would be more fun to be self sufficient.
