Discarding Our Bodies For Only BRAINS!?!?

Okay..Well..I was watching this show called "The Universe" It said if Human-kind were able to go on forever, basicly, eventualy we wouldn't need our bodies, we'd simply get rid of them, and we'd have millions of these little machines in our brain and they'd continue what normal blood cells did before they'd create oxygen, get rid of wastes, etc. personally, I'd hope I'd die before this all happened because That's horrible, no more sex, sports, food, nothing real would happen.

Edit: This isn't spam this is an inteligent debate =\ and I just said they're able to replicate organs in some sick way, we wouldn't need them.

impossible, our brain can't replace the functions of like your heart of lungs.

 

We would still perceive things to be real I guess. Is it like the matrix? I'm not following either.

But that's valid I think. We could be living like that right now - after all, we're unable to prove our existence to someone else.

 

I find the idea of a dispensable body that would be used for a lifetime at a time more plausible. With the development of robots that would act as a memory bank that could store our thoughts and feelings at the exact time of extraction possible, it could do exactly that and transfer the feelings and thoughts to that brain again once it is placed in a new body, thus rendering human kind immortal.

Um yeah, i dont think that would ever happen.
A brain is not able to take the functions of the organs which keep you alive.

 

This in my opinion is just spam. If you believe this explain to me how we would walk? talk? do anything that requires more than just our brain? If this were to happen we would have to live in a non gravitational place or else we would just be on the ground not being able to move.

 

How does it know that life would be like that??
It's a prediction and anyway, human kind wont last forever.

 

Why the hell would we do that to our bodies? The chance of this happening is basically zero.

 

A lot off negative comments here... The functions of our organs would of course be taken care of by machines. I don't see this as impossible if we imagine we had the technology to do it.

Although it is possible, I don't think it would happen.

And about the sex and all that, we could use the machines to stimulate parts of the brain to simulate feelings.

 

I love that show, but havn't seen that episode. Anyhow, it's an interesting concept, but much to far off to predict something like that.
