Diet Soda

This thread is about if you believe what people say about Diet Soda such as it stunts your growth, gives you cancer, will give you acne, will make you get hyper, will keep you awake etc.

In my opinion this is not true because did you know that Soda is made up of 98% water so I think there is no way that it could do any of those things.

I think it's not true, since my Father only drinks Diet coke, and he isn't fat. He sleeps when-ever he wants etc. I personaly don't like it since, its not sugary enough to keep me "active".

OK. well as far as i know heres the deal with diet soda. its bad.
Reasons.

1) the chemicals in it after drinking make you hungry. resulting in weight gaining effects. some "diet"

2) a friend of mines mother drank diet soda like a fiend 3 diet cokes a day. She now has the disease MS.

3) it does give you acne. but all soda does some more than others just depends on the type. Fanta Coke Pepsi Gingerale etc.

 

Here's where I come in to disagree with you

1) Diet Coke fills me up and actually makes me less hungry. It can have different effects on different kinds of people. You just need to find your limits, and apparently, I don't have any

2) I am truly sorry that your friend's mother has been diagnosed MS, but that could just be for some other reason such as genetics. I drink at around 10 cans of Diet Coke a week, sometimes more (<3333), and I'm perfectly fine.

3) As stated above, I drink Diet Coke a lot, not to mention other sodas, and I'm acne-free. Again, all types of sodas can have different effects on different kinds of people.

Your mates mum was not diagnosed with MS because she drank 3 cans of Diet Coke a day. She just happened to be diagnosed with it, diet coke does not cause it. My Pop is diagnosed with it and he doesnt drink diet coke at all.

 

idk i heard that in order to make it taste like the regular coke thats harmful or something besides these are all theories bring some scientific proof that says if you drink diet coke you will get MS (Multiple sclerosis)

 

how would u get ms from it?

 

what's the problem with normal soda?
And jopeto, thats no proof, you can also get lung cancer without smoking, still smoking causes lung cancer.
