Did Mod Mark confirm that...

a friend told me that Mod Mark confirmed that if the second phase wins the old wild and free trade will be back on Dec 30th, i can't seem to find any post about this in the forums....anyone here can confirm that and send me the link?

 

It is alleged that he did but I do not think so. There are plenty of fake pictures

 

I guess we'll just have to wait five days to see, but it is confirmed that he didn't know what they were going to do with a lot of things like pvp armours and brawling gloves. So I doubt they will have the game updated in the next five days. If they haven't even started the update it could be awhile but a lot of people believe they have been planning this update for awhile then it could be very possible that they release the update soon.

 

You can't really believe what you hear now. It would be helpful to have a QF code. Pictures can be easily photoshoped now.

 

Dec 30? no way the project has to be far bigger. unless plan'd beforehand.

You honestly never know without proof, I've seen a lot of fakes done, I've heard they are suppose to update on New Years or Jan 14th or June, We have to wait and see.

 

Just wait. It's 4:49 AM in the UK right now so around 6:00 AM - 7:00AM Jagex employees will be at work to tell us.

 

What is there to win? No one knows this number to win... He can just say it was a higher number of votes needed than there was...

 

How about get some patience and wait for an official announcement by JaGeX?

Knowing early if free trade and the wildy are coming back won't make it come any faster.

 

I'm pretty sure it'll take months for them to implement the old wildy and free trade. (i.e. relocation ect.)

 

IMO I think this update has been dusted polished and is sitting on an external harddrive right now waiting for the big day, LOL. It's just too convenient. I mean of course phase 1 was going to receive more than 1 million votes, that was a sure thing, and stating that maybe not even 1 million would be enough was pretty much showing they expected a big turnout, and wanted to act surprised, as if we havn't been begging for old wilde/free trade back for the last 3 years.

Secondly, the phase 2 with ability to log in and vote, I mean reaching 400k votes within 48 hours is phenominal beings that each and every one of those is a working account with a working password, manually logged in, and tbh it means alot more than 2million spammed votes. Even more so, the no and don't care option was given, but the "yes" vote still dominated 9 to 1, so the overwhelming want for this update is very apparent. And they knew that would happen as well. Let's outline the Jagex process below:

1. Phase 1 initiated
2. over 1 million votes in 24 hour period
3. JaGeX: WHAT??? YOU WANT OLD WILDE??? WHY DIDNT YOU SAY SO?!
***hahaha, made so much money off of `1.5 million page visits to that voting page, all those advertisers on there, owned!***
4. Phase 2: (i.e. well lets make sure everyone wants it with a "yes"/"no")
***everyone will vote again! more advertising money!***
5. JaGeX: WHAT?? EVERYONE WANTS THIS UPDATE??? WE HAD NO IDEA..
6. JaGeX: WELL OK, BAM, HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!
***counts money stacks in office, laughs that it's been sitting on the desk for weeks.***


OK, the above may have been dramatized a bit, but you get the picture, yea they play it off as if they want to poll the players first, THEN get started on the coding, but the answers they have given already tend towards the whole "we've already thought this through, we know how it will be, but lets make you think you decided on it and we didn't know you would want it" thing. Whatever, TBH we all have to understand jagex is still a business and If I saw an easy buck to be made off of the passions of my community (or a quick million bucks at that!), I would do it in a heart beat, and you cant blame them for that. As long as they do not try and drag this on too long, dont feel like watching them milk this masquerade dry, they have made there money, generated there publicity, proven everyone wants the update (90% ftw!) so lets just get this updated so we can all start playing Runescape like it was meant to be played!!

 

I'm guessing that free trade and wildy pking in its simplest forms will likely be here in a few weeks (really doubt by Dec 30), but as username said it'll probably take a couple months for all the relocations and stuff to happen.

 

It most likely has been finished for a while. I highly doubt they would have told the community about this update if it wasn't already finished.

 

This. There's no way that they could instantly revert everything back in a single say if they haven't already been working on it for months now.

 

glitched, thank you for agreeing, I mean tbh how pissed off would we all be if they were like:

"well, thanks guys had no idea you liked wilde that much, now that we know you really want it back, we will get cracking at that code, see you in July!!"

Seriously if they were that unprepared for the inevitable, I would burn Jagex Inc to the ground, anyone wanna join my angry mob if this is the case?

I really doubt it will be released on dec 30th but in the near future.

 

I herd that Free trade and wilderness was going to be implemented in 2011 after new years in January :|

 

There are alot of rumors going around, but it seems New Years is the most popular, as it would both mark the giant transformation of Runescape back into a more dangerous but old school form, and it would also mark the beginning of something new (like most new years resolutions are).

It said in the first announcement on the RS homepage that VOTING closes on the 14th January. I have no idea if this was for Phase #1 or Phase #2, but they might as well stop taking votes for Phase #2 as it's clear that "No" have absolutely zero chance of winning.
