New Section

So early today I was on a call with lvl 75 def and we started talking about Skype hacking's and how they were taking place most recently according to the announcements was Nick. Well I am suggestion that on the front page under Sythe rules and the user center that there is a section made called "hacking's" or something to that nature. Where moderators are able to post when people Skype or accounts have been compromised so that way everyone is getting that information versus just having a announcement within the sub forums.


Edit: We could just do an automatic pm to everyone when someone has been hacked.

 

What is wrong with the current system? Well known users that are hacked are given announcements. These are easy to spot on most parts of the forum.

Lesser known individuals who don't receive announcements can post in their signature if their skypes or other communication profiles are hacked. If their sythe accounts are hacked, they can request a ban.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with the current system it is just a minor improvement to where you would very easily be able to say okay I go to this section to find out who has been hacked currently It's almost like compiling a list and then once the person has been cleared then they maybe removed from the list. It's not like it's a big add on creating the section wouldn't take very long ether.

 

No support, anyone that would actually bother checking the section already knows that skype's are vulnerable to hacking and that PM's are a necessary part of trades because of it. A section dedicated to skypes that are hacked would look unprofessional/give sythe a bad look. I think that the stickys/announcements already more than cover the need for this.

If you want to do something maybe start an unofficial thread somewhere and keep it updated with hacked skype's (provided you have proof). If it becomes something that many people look to/think is necessary maybe it'll get stickied or something but anything else just doesn't make sense.

 

There's no improvement, not to be too harsh. The current system is fine. There isn't enough accounts being hacked to where it needs it's own section.

The announcement is site-wide, this suggestion would be worse than current one in place.

 

Agreed not often would newer people go to look in those sections. When I was a noob I recall looking at the site announcements to see hackings and therefore I know it would be less effective than the current system.

 

It's actually not fine guys, lets be honest. Simply even moving it to the front page or something instead of only showing it above the stickies would help alot OR making some automatic site wide pm system where everyone got a automated private message would help a ton. I personally am not new to the market yet i didn't see Nick was hacked and only saw it way after the announ was made.

 

Sending 347,172 PM's is a little harder than it sounds

I like the idea behind it in theory, but it's just not practical nor any more noticeable than the announcement system. Besides, if you use safe trading procedures and request PM's, then it doesn't really affect you if someone's hacked.

I think you could have the best of both worlds:
Have the announcement system still in place, but also make the section for OTHER users to post that they've been hacked. That way members that aren't as huge as others can still post they've been hacked.

True that, even if you don't do banned users.

The announcement system is fine. It would be nice to have a list that appears on top of pages that tells users high profile people who are currently hacked but announcements do that kind of currently so it really isn't worth the effort.
