On a more positive note, there are generally small pockets of people within a community who suffer from some sort of disease/infection that seek out other people with a similar disease/infection. At the very least it gives you guys something to be empathetic towards. If you don't want an active relationship you may still be able to find NSA sex.

I feel compassionate for you. I honestly do. Telling people will be the hardest part. You should practice on what you'll say. Don't drop the news intensely. Just tell your friends and girlfriend that you're scared, and you have been diagnosed with it. It's easier said than done, though. Although I don't know you, this really made me feel bad. Feel bad because I'm a selfish prick, and there's people like you who are diagnosed with a disease and have to live through the conditions of it. Just keep seeing the doctor on your regular visits. I hope, and pray that you'll do well.

Because that's the best way to make everything all right again.
Best of luck. A friend of mine has hep B, and he found the best way to get through it was to live his life to the fullest, if you'll forgive the cliché.
Don't let the disease rule over you and dictate your future path.

Anyone who abuses you for not drinking really isn't worth your time.
