    Diablo Guide - Contribute here!

    Hello,

I'd like those of you who know how/play this game to make an informational guide. I dont want a guide on "in-game" inch by inch stuff. I want a guide on where to buy the game, how much it costs, the general setting etc etc etc

Just want about a few paragraph informational guide so people like myself who have no clue what Diablo is can read one thread and start to grasp an idea of what it is all about. I am sure there are plenty of users here who have no clue what it is so lets get information all in one place.

    Thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

Once the guide is done it will be stickied in this forum, thanks

Alright FireZ, I'll start it off.

Where you can buy the game is in almost any game store such as EBGames, GameStop, and et cetera, you would have thought that they would stop selling the game after maybe 10 or so years, but no, it's still selling and at a pretty high price, we're talking about $40ish, but Amazon.Com sells it for $18. There are some people on Sythe that sell CD-Keys that will save you money, so you don't have to go out and buy a new copy. But having a legit CD-Key is really important to play on Battle.Net, since Closed Battle.Net is filled with hacked items and characters. Battle.Net is where 90% of all the fun is.

    Links to buy the game:

Choose a Sorceress class, because that's best for new comers to start with, since you can do Magic finding with that, I suggest a Fire type, since that's one of the strongest, I'm talking about 14K damage with the right gear. The best way to level in my opinion is to get to level 25, then get a friend to rush you to Baal, then start doing Baal runs to level 50. After Baal, you'll be in Nightmare level, then go get your friend to rush you again, then you'll get to baal, then do Nightmare Baal runs until you're level 75, then defeat Baal and go to Hell level. In hell level, get your friend to once again rush you, then get to baal and do baal runs from there, and it doesn't matter if you defeat Baal or not, there's no other levels so you'll be in Hell level. Also, in my opinion, the best way for your friend to rush you is with a Hammerdin Paladin.

    Here's a video for character build: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuRLAuLuj9A

When you start to do Magic Find, do it on Mephesto, that's the easiest and fastest way to Magic Find, since you don't need to do much to get to Mephesto. Also, I forgot how to spell Mephesto, so if anyone can correct me, feel free. When you start doing Magic Find runs, you should have your best strongest weapon and shield out to kill Mephesto, then when Mephesto is about to die, you press "W" to bring out your Magic Finding Weapon and Shield to get a high chance of finding something good.

That's about all I remember, since I haven't played in the longest time. I hope that helped some of you out.

For those who enjoy getting followers to help you kill bosses and monsters, Necromancer is the class for you!

    - Necromancers are easily one of the most unique and fun class to play in Diablo II: LoD, summoning vast armies of skeleton warriors and golems to completely over take the foe.

    Summoning Skills

    - Necromancers also have the option of developing powerful poison and bone attacks that will have no problem in taking out large amounts of monsters with ease.

    Poison & Bones Skills

    - Finally, the last ability Necromancers have is powerful curses that will literally make your enemy weak and helpless.

    Curse Skills

Necromancer is a mage with the strongest summoning abilities. Unlike the Sorceress with her powerful elemental skills, the Necromancer's killing power comes through indirect means; he uses the demons' strengths against them, relying on his powerful minions and Curses to control the battlefield.

Necromancers can use their abilities to manipulate bones into powerful missile attacks, protective bone armour and even create walls to block in the enemy! To summon skeletons to fight by your side, all you need is a corpse of a recently deceased monster. You can only summon one golem, however this golem will be much stronger than the skeletons you bring to life.

For beginners, it would be ideal to start off as an Summoning Necromancer as progressing through the stages will be a breeze with summons to help you.
