I filed a report 2 months ago about a guy that scammed me. I provided MSN pictures, not just chatlogs, but the pictures. He even flat out said "the accounts mine mofo". What more can I possible give?

Moderator said: "I don't ban people off MSN conversations about admitted scammings. Locked."

How do you ever expect us to get rid of scammers if they ALWAYS get off without a mark.

Regardless of just that one report, the Report-A-Scammer section is a bit depressing.

The only mod I see in it is Skele-Master.

Yes, after scamming someone else. How could we have prevented this? If the scam reports were read and taken seriously we could stop a majority of the scams. Most people don't even bother sending reports because they're pretty much useless. And not to mention if he WASN'T banned from another scam, he wouldn't have been banned from my report. Why? I have all the proof you could ever ask for.

Most people never give enough info/put it in the correct format. I wouldn't have banned based off that 1 screenie either. If everyone who reported followed the template then reports would be answered faster. If people checked the scammer section before trading then most people wouldn't get scammed.

    Exactly what Skele said.

Him and a few other mods have reduced the scam reports by more than half. Just be patient and your report will get answered as soon as possible.

Darkboob did a ton of reports recently. We're down to 12 pages.

You know nothing of what goes on in the "Report a Scammer" section, so don't agree with what other people say.

On Topic: I also feel that the report's are not answered quickly, and more moderators need to be active in that section. On this site, by the time the scammer is banned, he could have scammed another 20 people. The reports on this site take on average 20 - 35 days to be answered. Most having sufficent proof of a scammer.

If you can't figure out someone is a scammer by "Providing MSN" and "Providing Chat Logs", as well as some times even video evidence, then you lack common sense.

The section is a bigger joke than the spam forum.

I find it hard to believe that more moderators are dedicated to the "Market" section, buying and selling, then there are moderators taking care of scammers needing to be banned.

I understand fully that it may be boring after a while filing bans after bans, but, it's your job, so do it.

Even if it is 5 reports a day (I don't think is too much to ask) it would reduce more scams occuring, and help clear out some of the section.

And mods, don't take time to post on this thread.

You're only wasting time in which you could be checking on Scam reports.

    - Plundy.

What's there not to know? Hahanerd does a lot of ban evader reports so he obviously checks that section often.

Chat logs aren't accepted for a reason. They are as good as text files. If everyone would just provide the evidence we require, reports would be answered very quickly.

We aren't forced to do scammer reports. We'll do them when we have the time.

No shit sherlock, he said that, but as a moderator, you should take your time to check em' out every once in a while.

    Mod's should be required to fill out 3 - 5 a day.

I feel ashamed to be apart of this community where moderator's straight out say "Wee dunt h4v3 tu do em mang, n0t 0ur pr0bl3|\/|"

What is that supposed to me you insignificant moron?

The fact that you say I think or am a kid made me giggle a little bit inside.

Out of everything I have posted, where do you get evidence to draw the assumptions that I am a kid.

And if these moderators have lives, jobs, work, rent, why are they even moderators? Seems to me they have to much stuff to do, so lets give all the positions to "Kids".

    Cuul shat mang.

Stop flaming, the moderators are not obliged to do them, and it's not mandatory, they're not getting paid, therefore it's a voluntary action, you force people to do voluntary jobs? No, it's done upon due to free will and content. Also 3-5 Is extreme, each one could take up to around half an hour, so 2-3 Hours of a persons day should be speant on sythe checking for scammers, I don't think so not to mention actually having lesuire time on here also.

On the topic, I feel there are too many imposter's so before banning someone instantly they need to be cautious as well.

Mods are not wrong to be weary of "straight-forward" reports. It's a lot easier (and more likely) for someone to fake one screenshot of a user saying "haha I scammed you" than to fake 6 of a more complicated and subtle scam.

If scammers were never banned, not only would that user still be here (kind of a large flaw in your complaint), but our ban list also wouldn't be as massive as it is. Whether you notice or not, even when not directly answering scam reports, we're banning quite a few users.

    1. So if he hadn't flat out said thanks for the account, he would have been banned? So this is a lesson to all scammers: Next time you scam them flat out say it, then you can't get banned! Valuable advice, I should have made a guide for it and sold it.
    2. He wasn't banned for scamming me, he was banned AFTER scamming someone else.
    3. This site is years old, no duh the list is long.

    1. I had plenty of info.
    2. It had flow to it, I'm pretty sure a 5 year old could have found their way around my report.
    3. Okay so now the scammer section is more to check to see if someones a scammer rather than a section for MODS to look at and for MODS to ban people? There are over 16000 threads of scammers and ban evaders. You want me to look through them?

Please, enlighten me, what more proof can you ask for. BTW this thread isnt to attack you, I see a lot of people getting off clean. I honestly probably wont send a ban report in the future ever again. I got banned today but will I bother sending a report that wont even get checked? Probably not.

    1. It wasn't a chat log, it was a picture. There is a big difference bud.
    2. I followed all the rules and guidelines here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=207211
    3. What is more important than answering scammer reports during your time on sythe? When you agree to be a mod your accepting that responsibility. Yes, you're right, you don't HAVE to do this and you AREN'T getting paid but does that argument stand at all? No, because you agreed to do it. No one made you.

Sin meant that it would be easy to fake 1 small part of a screenshot rather than fake an entire convo.

Think of this as an open community. We report scammers to the community and warn others so they don't get scammed until the mods have time to look throught the reports. All you have to do is click the search button in the scammer section with the username of the person your trading.

Scammer reports are important but feel I do my fair share. I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to have fun/allowed to use the market as well..

    1. Ah, none the less, it's pretty obvious of his scam, he was cussing and bashing me throughout the picture and then at the end taking the account. What's an incentive of forging a picture? What a joke. If I can forge one part of a convo, I can forge the entire conversation. BTW that's not what he meant, what he meant was basically that is too obvious and a scammer wouldn't do that so that means people will second guess it and think its real. What he is saying makes sense but the thing is every scammer is different. Logging out doesent make you any more of a scammer than saying flat out thanks for the account etc. "I don't ban people off MSN conversations about admitted scammings."

    2. This is true, but whose job is it? Is it the peoples job to research a company before buying their peanut better or is it the governments to investigate once a report is filed. If they investigate it as it is filed there are less people stuck with salmonella. An example for you?

    3. I agree, so maybe you should encourage the other mods to take charge sometimes. Those who fail to meet the expectations of their job should be removed. There a plenty of people willing to step up and help.
