Are there members getting banned for botting nowadays?

Or doesn't jagex give a shit anymore?

 

I've been experiencing significantly less bans based off my suicide accounts
I think they just want their player count to be higher than 20k lol

 

The short answer is yes, they are banning members accounts.

 

Tbh they need all the members they can get after EOC.
They are losing players every second which means they are losing profit.

 

Yes, they are in rare cases, but honestly if you've been a customer of them for a while, they won't ban you. Honestly, most bots getting banned are the ones with random names like 12rune642, or in some cases suicide botters. Mainly just advert bots with random names. Look at botany bay, you won't see anyone with an average name ever.

 

ive been running scripts for 2+ days doing mining on my main and ive yet to have a ban scare, then again when i powermine i go to secluded spots and when i bank mine down in LRC i dont rlly gotta worry cause its a mix of bots and real people down there so its hard to tell the difference

 

It's fucking hilarious to see all these people saying they aren't banning members that have been with them a while. Just lol.

If you get caught botting and it is a major botting offence, short answer is you're banned, member or not, you're fucked. I've had an account banned recently, members, four years on this account and it's perm banned no appeal.

I think they are panicking to push content out to bring back the oldbies with player owned ports so they must be focusing 100% on content and not bots.

 

How were you botting, like 24/7? Or max 6 hours a day?

 

I believe they try to get as much gold farmers they can, over that nothing.

 

They are largely just trying to ban gold farmers rather than individual botters.

 

They do not care at all. I am botting eight accounts at runespan to 99 within their trial period to sell and each has a name where they have the numbers 1 to 8 on the end. I am even botting them in a group in the same world on the same island just to see if jagex actually does anything. Each account is now 80rc after one and a bit days and nothing has been done.

 

Only one out of all the people I know who bot have been banned. So I would say they took their attention away from botting and onto bringing people back with more exciting updates.... Which I hope we will see. I do however like the EoC as it makes RS more like other MMORPGs that I play, however to bring the people back that dont like it, they need really exciting updates, and I believe this is where they are focused at the moment, and I also believe that the player owned ports is only the first of these large updates to try and bring people back.

They also might be banning bots less now due to the EoC breaking the hooks on powerbot and doing whatever it did to EpicBot, as I have found no scripts to work properly on epicbot and powerbot only has a handful working, so knowing that alot less bots are around, they might be paying alot less attention to them.
