[DENIED]Suggestion to fight scamming

Idk if this has been mentioned before or not, but why not introduce a system where users can send in their ID with proof and be awarded with a minirank that shows so?

It would provide more trust to said person and would reduce scam possibility.

This would ofcourse have to be done right/secure and not half-assed.

Idk, thoughts? the ras section literally reminds me of Syria rn.

 

There's a big difference in ID and paypal info. Idk, just seems weird to me that a marketplace has no verification of the users.

 

Get a funrank and make even bigger scams? It's almost the same as SVU which didn't work out. Besides, I doubt the mods are gonna leak ID to scam victims.

 

The intention is good I guess...

How would having an ID of someone who has scammed help exactly?

 

It would at least eliminate the person from returning and scamming again (with the minirank)
Also in big cases staff team could decide if a police report was appropiate.

I do realize that this is not a fix, but it could be a good addition (imo) if done right and with the proper background-checks of the application.

 

Staff wouldnt call police over a scam and if you reply they can leak the persons info i highly doubt that will happen

It's easy as fuck to get a fake ID

It's been done before with the SVU like people have said

It would just make people who vade look even more trusted when they manage to get a fake ID because people will think they won't scam because of it.

 

Would support if staff figure out a way to do it properly, would also need to make user give permission to publish it if he scams to avoid future issues

 

Fake IDs cost like $50, it would be too easy to bullshit this and give false trust to non trustworthy uesrs

 

We probably wouldn't ever go to the lengths to contact police regarding scams. Most of the reasons why this would be too difficult to successfully implement have already been mentioned above.
