[Denied]Spam Channel Discord

In light of recent events and the amount of drama in the discord. I am suggesting that we add a spam text channel. It would take about 20 seconds to add and would actually free up the general channel to real conversation instead of flaming each other every 15 seconds. It is taking away from real conversations that could be had.

Edit- Also Pikachu brought up a good point that I didn't add. This is the first channel people see when they join the discord.

The discord is an extension of the spam forum, the last time changes were made to the discord it was dreadful. No support.

 

While I understand this. That doesn't mean there couldn't be a Spam channel. So that people can actually converse without drama. Just my opinion though and yes I understand there could still be drama theoretically.

Correct but that is what I am looking to change as it's the first chat that new people will see when joining. I am just suggesting we place a spam channel in the discord which will literally take 30 seconds.

 

Depends on how the rules will be applied by staff tbh. Discord is a harder entity to manage, but I think it can be regulated well.

I think the Discord should have its own Spam Forum section, it shouldn't be inherently spam forum, but at the same time, if it's already under Spam Forum rules idk why there'd be a change.

This is up to the admins and Richard himself obviously, but I agree with having it have sections kinda just like Sythe. Maybe just have the Sythe discord completely MIRROR the site in sections?

No support, you don't have to be in the Sythe discord to be a part of Sythe. Nor do you have to take anything seriously on there. It's a fun place for chat, banter, and sometimes a little frisky cat fight...

 

I don't think proposing a change based of one current occurrence is a reliable indicator of what the channel is inherently about.

I do agree to an extent, that, due to the heated conversations taking place at current, some may be offended, and or new users may be intimidated. However, then I'd argue and say, not all topics of conversation are going to be agreeable by all parties involved, nor will they always be mellow and tame. Sensitive topics will always appear here and there.

1 occurrence? Lol come on, don’t be blind. This is happening over & over for the last 2 years, with people taking spam to the extreme & legit depreciating people’s business due to the little hang bangs they are doing.

 

It has been more than one occurrence. Which is why I am bringing it up. It has been multiple times. Even in the last few days.
