[Denied]Harder ruling on specific repeats

So I am going to make this clear, this is based off remove the ' spam forum rules apply ' in #sythe channel - How someone can claim at any point (and no I am not just referring to the OP) they are being harassed/victimised or anything near that based off warning shots they are given is completely a face palm.

Not being funny when I say this, there are rules for a reason and it seems people do not understand that enforcing the rules to the point the staff have to step in at places they shouldn't have to is just stupid. I have been reading a lot of these gun squads and I feel that it's possible we should change the odd rules here and there like we did with the whole "doxing" comment stuff this should be treated just as much the same.

When you mention certain things, this can be to incriminate or just offend someone it can also come with a different scenario to the one you thought it would. If a user was threatening to dox people they would have a minimum of a 6 month ban if not a complete IP ban, this however is not only putting people off wanting to use certain areas of the website (Such as discord, god forbid we're wrong for voting yes to that too now..) but it also leaves a bad taste in newcomers names who want to hang out and have a laugh and quite often they don't know the full context past things so they gather their own minds and think 2 and 2 works fine.

- Say someone is banned, it could be for anything and I mean almost anything they could fart and be banned a newcomer would think they are a scammer still. Referring to someone as a chocolate bar because you're trying to bypass the fact of discriminating someone's name off a basic insult should carry the same action or at least something more than a simple discord chat ban as it's still going on via other parts of the forums.

 

Here are some examples, and honestly i'm sick and tired of this crap.

I understand people want to have a laugh and poke and prod each other, i'm all for that and the light trolling - Last time I checked the spam forum is for LIGHT trolling not mass bombardment.

I understand some of the parties including the ones above may feel out placed with the whole area of the ruling to them is that what they are doing is still "light trolling" when in fact it isn't, not only is it slandering someone on false regarded information, it's also damaging a reputation of a person or people on occasions that also end similar to this and it's a shame that staff have to spend their time and resources dealing with this sort of stuff when people cant move on from the good old "oh I insulted you, you insulted me now i'll cry"

As I say, light trolling and by all means that can be taken any what way so I am not trying to be a party pooper but people need to understand that not everyone thinks the same way as them and not everyone is as comfortable as them.

Before anyone thinks I feel they should stay banned from the Sythe discord, I don't feel that was warranted either. I understand that they got warned as many others do (even myself on occasion) to stop and they did not in many similar cases we are also banned for X-time as shown via many appeals to join back to the discord server from all different members of the community.

 

I haven't seen half of the threads you linked above because all the OP's are on my ignore list.

That is just sad when you think about it. What motivates them to keep going? It's literally a small group dwelling the same joke over and over and nobody outside their circle thinks it's funny. Don't even know how many weeks it has been, but I admire their persistency. What a shame they don't use that same persistence for something good instead of dedicating that practicing gang signs, trying to get someone's attention and making yourself look incredibly stupid. No normally functioning human can comprehend the insanity. What's the agenda? What drives someone to dedicate their life to a meaningless act? These questions will not be answered anytime soon. The only thing evident is that their parents have done a poor job raising these individuals.

I was told to ignore everything said and done by these individuals, which I have. Clearly this is not a solution, as it has only motivated the group to reach me through different ways. An example is Viking who repeatedly ask others to contact me and ask me to unblock him because he wants to apologise, just to insult me further after I've lifted the block. Furthermore, it's insanely corrupt to allow someone to harass someone else a specific amount of times per day. I don't even know how this can be disregarded by the rest of the staff team because it is truly absurd. Staff should be unbiased in situations like these but it seems like many have been given a free-pass to do anything they'd like because they are friends of someone with a blue-/cyan username. This truly bizarre controversy has affected many people in a negative way and it's all driven by one master and his puppets who can act freely because some consider their immature behaviour funny - or in line with the rules of spam forum, which it definitely isn't.

Telling someone to "just block and ignore" people is an incredibly easy way to handle a situation without receiving a backlash and that is pretty much what has been done so far. It might be that some are afraid to put their foot down because they fear they will have to handle things the hard and correct way, which is a rather bad quality for someone in that position. Some times a simple block can be the solution - but clearly not in this case. How many months have to pass before people realize?

With this being said, I fully support your suggestion. No one should be able to act however they want because they have an automatic mandate from being friends with a staff member.

I do agree the specific example you've used is harassment and defamation.

Although it is the spam forum it's similar to replacing the word scammer with scanner. People will just make threads saying he's a fedo instead of pedo and what not.

 

Harder ruling on repeated offense. For example, taking things outside spam forum although several warnings. Or simply ignoring whatever said by the staff team.

 

No support, you already shouldn't be able to punish someone for harassment if the "harassed" person is involved in same activities (which is exactly the case in your examples)

 

When you are going out of your way to target someone for no called reason, this isn't the same activity as you describe.

User A has been told to place these people in this reference to ignore, he has done so and users B C D E and every other letter of the alphabet still decide to go ahead and get others to involve themselves in such terms as getting them to contact them and so.

Many cases have happened similar to this, not just with these people but with other spam forum users, people like Qemo and so on as another name to drop.

I wasn't around I was banned remember? Then again, so did Hex and Dutch Oven and I couldn't comment on that either.

I wish I could support your thread when you guys asked NSFW to be removed due to the situation, as it annoyed me too, and I did end up adding people to ignore for tagging me there to look at it.

Trust me man, i'm in no different boat, i'm just sick and tired of the petty bs because people cant get over a problem both are equal to causing for whatever reason.

 

Neither Hex nor I spammed any porn. We were trolling which is okay according to the rules. Excessive harassment is not. See the difference? This is not a thread for arguing. Feel free to comment on the suggestion and try stay away from irrelevant stuff.

 

In my opinion an IP ban is definitely not needed here if that's what you're suggesting. I've seen much worse brushed aside in the past.

 

I agree that an IP ban is not the best solution. However these kinds of situations should not be brushed aside. It's rather simple: allow light trolling and harassment in the spam forum. If a staff member gives you a warning for whatever reason but you keep doing it -> 1 day ban -> 3 days ban -> 1 week ban or something like that.

 

I'm not gonna bother digging it but we both know what happened, and you just showed your true face by reporting people for doing same things u do. I'm glad some mods aren't braindead enough to unsee this. I was being harassed daily with this shit, but i didn't act like a little bitch about it to start reporting everyone.

On a serious note, its hard to issue ‘ strikes ‘ as pzad mentioned. (Oh sorry mistyped). You cant really expect staff to waste their time on matters like this. At this point its a joke, they are spending time locking spam forum threads, issueing infractions etc. all to protect a user that said they wanted to have sex with a young girl over and over again.

Nah, IP ban is way too serious, just saying that's what has been shown in the past.

1 message isn';t harassing someone, that's just being a dumb ass. What you're doing however is harassing someone, over the space of a month.

I am however dealing with their situation in private (them and me) as it seems you're not smart enough not to join in activities of which you shouldn't.
