Prime sample would be this user: Dnarsales.

He has alot of threads and edited all information out after a couple months. In light of the Regarding the right to vanish rule this still allows them to vanish from the website for the most part and linking any of his current sales (if he has any on a vader account - which he claimed he would in his post) would be near to impossible unless I or someone else requests his threads to be reverted, but sadly those requests often get denied by new staff members who are unaware of this being allowed to be requested when reported thread is owned by a DNT or banned member.

My suggestion here would be to add a limit to all threads (automatically ofcourse) being edited, for example a max of 1 month or so. I get that this may cause issues for some users wishing to use their threads for eternity, but ofcourse those users can still report their threads and ask them to be added - so long as it doesn't erase all content (or the content of their accounts being sold). Perhaps, this suggestion could for example only be applied to all account sections.

Let me know what you think. This also prevents accounts to be resold - or atleast keeps the threads intact if it has been sold before.

I’d be in favor of a rule like this for account sales specifically. That being said, I think one month is too short. Three months edit window might be just as effective while decreasing the inconvenience on honest users.

Considering staff can see the edit history (as such, oversight is still present), coupled with anonymity being a big draw-in of users to this website, I'm not a huge fan of something like this - however, I do see how this can be beneficial, so, perhaps, limiting this to new accounts only within the account section?

I.e., accounts less than XXX weeks/months/whatever old, cannot edit threads within the account sales sections after Xmonths, post thread creation.

On another note (correct me if I'm wrong), DNT users are unable to view market forum sections, yes? If so, are they able to bypass this via viewing their own threads created under their profile, and subsequently edit said threads?

This would really be pain in the ass if i couldn't edit the topics myself. Maybe a better solution would be just locking them after certain time of inactivity (I think something like this used to be done for gold section?)

I like the spirit of this suggestion but can't see it being implemented for the usual "restricts the free market etc" reasons that kill off a bunch of ideas. In reality, the number of cases where this is at issue is super low; it's just the annoying, "ugh I know he vaded and edited all this out"-type cases that we remember, so it seems worse than it is.

I'm not sure this gets around the problem regarding ease of use though. Like if I typo in my thread six times, I should be able to edit it again and again. Or if I'm offering a series of accounts in one thread and get offers/sales, I should be able to reflect that in my thread.

I'm pretty sure DNT users cannot see their old market threads and edit them.

I agree. Small reward for a largely difficult to implement and actively monitor issue, whilst said issue not being that prevalent.

I love your suggestion, and i think it can be used to positively counteract people selling their sythe accounts. I know this was just a suggestion but i think they edit period should be around 4-6 months.
    Great suggestion!
