[DENIED] Make Ban Evader Reports Private

My suggestion is to make ban evader reports fully private, or, hide the contents of each post so only staff can see them. The username of the person in question should still be in the title of the report, so they can easily be found if needed by staff in the future.

This is because the content of each report, for example one I made recently, can easily be viewed by the ban evader if they get banned...making it easier for them to ban evade in the future as they won't repeat the same mistakes again on the new account they make, such as blatantly having similar interests or thread layouts, etc.

Example:
User A, a ban evader, gets reported for ban evading for having similar contents in their threads/IP match from same VPN/similar thread layouts/selling the same 07 account as their banned profile etc., and gets banned for ban evading.

He can easily see the report, and he can see what he was banned for specifically. He can see IN DETAIL how he was caught, and therefore banned. Now, if he makes a new account, he knows it can be made harder for the public and staff to catch him if he doesn't repeat the same mistakes on the report that got him caught, such as changing VPN's so he doesn't use same IP, changing layouts of threads, changing up interests etc. The thread that got him banned provides him with a tool to successfully ban evade in the future.

If the ability was not there for him to see the report that got him caught/banned, it would make his life a lot harder to ban evade as he wouldn't know exactly what caused him to get caught.

I feel like, in the long run, this would make it easier to find ban evaders, and harder for them to "slip through" into the Sythe community and never get caught. The worst thing for Sythe is to have long-term vaders that only get harder and harder to catch each time, meaning they gain more trust, vouches, and have the potential to scam larger amounts in the future.

Support, there’s no need for them to have access to it, but at the same time it’s always beneficial when you find a ban evader to look at their previous reports.

 

I support this as well. However, this would also mean that regular users can't view said threads and can't learn how people like @Devil catch evaders. Me personally, I've learned a lot from people like him.

 

I agree with @Ice Queen , RABE reports should NOT be private, unless it's a user with a high reputation (donor status). Those reports should be private until proven true, then open to the public. Just my opinion

I talked to @Champ or @Wortel don't remember which about this a while ago, and it was shut down. Although I support it, I can see where it has gray areas. I believe that ban evader reports should be private but moved to archive so they can be seen publicly after being handled, regardless of the outcome.

 

People need to know what they were banned for to know how to dispute - private reports don’t allow users to know why they were banned besides “ban evading.”

 

This suggestion has been denied, only in important circumstances should a report be "private".
