This statement is 100% accurate. I would actually say its more like 100% of the time tbh

 

I'm in favor ofcourse for small buyers, but I'm curious about a proper solution for bigger sellers. I used to manage threads for some bigger sellers and I would understand what kind of a pain in the ass it would be to keep on updating threads with actual accounts for sale. Now I know it's already against the rules to have accounts up for sale you no longer own, but considering everyone did it and considering it's a tedicious process to keep changing your threads, I figured f* it.

Surely it would be fine to check the threads like once a week or so, but you can't prevent some false advertising from happening even if you check the threads/accounts once a week.

 

Well that comes to the same possibility kinda: Having accounts listed you no longer own.

I try to update my thread as much as possible. When I edit my thread to add new stuff I also take the time to remove the sold ones as well. Its not two separate tasks its one task. Its extremely easy to do as a daily/bi-daily task but would be inconvenient if I were to be forced to update it immediately after selling every account. I have many duplicates or extremely similar builds so if one specific one is sold I can usually counter the customer with another. I make a point of listing every single account I have for sale with its specific pictures. I do not believe it is acceptable to just post generic pictures and then list how many of that account I have. Or worse, not post any pictures at all and just say that I sell zerks (for example) with no other context other than go to my discord/website to learn more. I also update my thread title to make sure the 20+ 30+ etc are actually accurate with what is in the thread.

I personally don't really understand how sellers can advertise so generically on the account selling threads. Every account is different. If a seller advertises they have five 99 firemaking hardcore ironman accounts that does nothing to explain the other levels each one has. Some may have 60 fletching, others may have literally 30 fletching and no construction because the worker was lazy when making it. Did the workers remain 10 HP or did they level it and other combat skills? None of this information is properly explained if the seller posts a generic image and says they have 5 in stock. You still need to contact them and ask further questions, if you even know what questions to ask. This is not even ironman specific. When I make pures, there are often subtle small changes like 22 magic instead of 23. All of this makes a big deal to the end customer.

As many others have stated there is abuse by bumping religiously even if they have little to no stock remaining. This is not a little-seller issue it is a big-seller issue. They take advantage of their massive feedback and reputation to get users to join their discords while subverting posting requirements such as photos. All they want is to bring you to their discord where they can then have their discord workers advertise gold, services, other stuff not related to the original sythe thread the user opened. The intent is to drag the user away from competition (ie: Sythe). Having to go through several discords, open tickets, and view even MORE sub-sections is intended to distract the user from the fact they can just look elsewhere. Finally, the last reason this is a big-seller issue and not a little-seller issue is that I don't believe you are able to share sythe accounts. The owner of the group cannot share access with his workers, which means certain groups would have difficulty because the lazy owner cant offload this particular job and they must put in the work listing the information themselves. Its much easier to just list a generic sale thread telling people to go to discord or a website and have a worker bump it which is within the rules. Ask yourself this question. Once you move from Sythe to a private discord or website, what are the odds you will go back to Sythe to compare what you find? Or will you just continue to look through the inventory shown on the privately owned website/discord? Once you get sucked into a conversation with a sales rep it becomes harder to look at competition, and thats the point.

I have sold many accounts through the sythe DMs because of how my sale threads are set up. I dont need a website, or discord servers. My sythe thread is effectively its own standalone "website" for me to do business on, and I would personally love to see other sellers held to the standard of listing everything for-sale on their Sythe thread. I say this from experience because I am currently DNT'd, but enforcing this to other sellers would also make Sythe's DNT's and TWC's more punishing as well. The purpose of running a discord or website is to help cushion backlash from breaking the rules elsewhere. If the average sythe user is accustomed to going to a sythe thread, instead of discord or a private website. Sythe punishments suddenly gain more teeth.
