[Denied] Find a better way to separate volunteer DNT and actual deserving DNT

Literally what the title says.

There are (I'm sure) a plethora of excuses or reasons on why a member is DNT. Nevertheless, when a suggestion is brought up regarding DNT's you always get these guys "Oh I'm DNT because I asked to be so blah blah blah".

So, with that said, we should come up with a way to allow the "Volunteer Do Not Trade" members to receive fair treatment and actual deserving "Do Not Trade" to be cut from certain things. For example as seen here: Remove DNT users access to Donor Lounge by @Kanye. He posted a thread saying they shouldn't be allowed into the donor lounge. Which.. Really does kind of make sense if you're a DESERVING DNT you shouldn't be allowed to see who's gambling, what input donors have on the site, etc. In fact when you're DNT your donor rank is removed. You shouldn't have a lot of access to other members in general.

SO I have came up with a very simple solution but perhaps another poster can provide a better one or reasoning why this wouldn't work.

My solution:

Create the VDNT rank (Yea, it'll take time to go through and say oh this person requested it so he gets this she gets that). This volunteer DNT will only have their market access removed from the site and discord. Their rank will be clickable and lead to their thread for the reasoning of their VDNT request and then by added rules aren't able to trade until they request for someone to remove their rank. This rank allows them to still have access to let's say the donor lounge and other aspects that deserving DNT's do not.

Keep the DNT rank for the obvious. Same rules apply as they are now just they're separated from the VDNT's and lose more access and that leads to less potential scams / info on certain things. Really, removing their access to areas is just for safety purposes.


Now, as I said in the beginning, I am sure a lot of the current DNT's have very interesting excuses into why they are DNT now. That's super cool, but if you want that DNT removed you should request a pardon, pay your fines, and side with this decision.

i support, but i would find a different title than vdnt as that could get confusing visually and in general for casual browsers and/or newcomers. im sure someone could come up with something else

 

How about they just edit the current DNT, one says "Do Not Trade" & the volunteer one should just say "Non-Market User". Quick simple and distinguishable.

 

Id support this it creates a clear distinction between someone you shouldn't trade versus someone who doesn't want to trade. “VDNT” and “DNT” could be easily confused where as a Non Market User could just be someone who isn't active in the market but still wishes to remain apart of the community or just take a break all-together without the stigma of a DNT.

 

No support. If you volunteer for a rank that says “do not trade,” surely you must understand what comes with that rank. If they don’t like the associated with that rank, then they can request it be removed.

 

I would agree with you normally. However, at the same time. We shouldn’t honor them to have privileges/access to other members, areas, and other things.

 

Maybe I misunderstood, but isn’t this a suggestion for those who requested the DNT rank? Meaning that they didn’t have any infractions, they just didn’t want access to the market? If so, why complain about a negative stigma that they voluntarily brought upon themselves. I understand they did nothing wrong, but they didn’t need to request the DNT rank in the first place. If you want to be apart of the community but not the market, then just don’t post in the market?
