Never really got the idea of paying a fee on the amount I want to Donate (2 underlines under donate).

That was alot of story, but barely anything contributes to the actual suggestion. Your arguments about chargebacks can easily be solved by not taking PayPal at all.

We used to have that, but it was taken down because of the errors happening I suppose.

Define the "site they go through" - a question coming from a (former?) bondholder.

The user in question here contacted 2 out of 3 bondholders and the last one was unresponsive. He wanted to donate via PayPal quite desperately though was rejected already twice. How do you expect this user to donate if the bondholders reject his donation? Surely I understand they would decline his donation if he was most likely a ban evader, but this one for sure was a trusted individual.

Irrelevant to the suggestion at hand here, but I get what you mean.

The only time I rejected a donation was because it was more than my bank worthy someone wanted to donate, so that was hard.

Correct. @Silv figured out the same thing so he chargebacked about $1000 in donations later on.

Understandable but also unrelated to this suggestion. I dislike the fees, but it's about being able to deny donations now.

You've got it all wrong once again, my friend.

To make Bond Holders take smaller amount of donations, you have to make the bond holder market more competitive and not less due to regulations.

Not to mention that this will never pass through @Sythe (luckily IMO)

I support this big time, people should not have to be forced to donate a huge amount.

Bond Holders should be forced to process small amounts?

If you’re applying to be a bond holder then imo you should become one to actually do good for the community rather than make $ off users. I think it’s unfair how bond holders are saying minimum $50 donation to process it for them. Definitely would like to see this suggestion pass

Support. I either support this, or have two tier of bondholders.

    Tier 1: Accepts donations <$50.
    Tier 2: Accepts donations >$50.

Obviously based on what they want to do, tier 2's can accept tier 1 status donations too. There's probably a few downsides to this as I didn't give it much thought but I'm willing to hear your input @Wortel.

What I’ve learned after donating to Sythe is, after donating the initial minimum of $5 — which is what I did. All of the other future donations come easy without any kind of bond holder needed.

Which I'm glad about, but it shouldn't be such a hassle for those willing to get their donations started.

Don't think we should do that (aside from the fact it'll never happen), in my opinion someone should either take all donations or not become a bondholder.

[DENIED] Enforce bondholders to take all donations

We dont enforce that sites that have a non-predatory (scam) TOS from advertising on this website, I dont see why we would require bond holders to take all donations.... they can do whatever the hell they want.... we don't require MMs to MM any trade... right? We dont say that account buyers need to buy every account, we dont require people trade with everyone who wishes to trade with them, we dont require servicers do an order they dont want to.

right of refusal of any service for any reason is a free market policy that @Sythe likes. What if I dont like someones religion, I am allowed to not do services for him on this site - c'est la vie, I dont have to accept his donation, and I can flame him if I prefer.

If Sythe wants to accept donation in all amounts then I suggest they let people donate to the site directly via paypal instead of giving them the chore of finding a bondholder to accept a 5$ donation and then donating to the site via paypal.

    no support

This is exactly why bondholding was created, new users would donate directly via pp and then just scamquit with their $300 donor ranks and then chargeback the donation, which limited the sites pp account.

We wont be going back to the old method.

I have also decided to reactive my bond because members of PR should be knowledgeable in these types of things (helping new users) and this is a good medium to be able to take donations again myself.

Not sure if you want to try to enforce this on all bondholders, but if myself, Bog and Mootrucks are all taking smaller donations I'd be comfortable with that.

I do not support this mostly because they should be able to turn down someone for any reason. If somebody doesn't want to take under $50, as we've seen on this thread there are other people more than happy to take it.

[DENIED] Enforce bondholders to take all donations

    Hi-

All that really matters to us is that bond holders list the terms of their bond service accurately on their thread and behave with integrity. As in, if they charge fees they should say so and what the fees are. If the fees differ by payment method, it should be explained. If they have a minimum donation amount, they should say so. And so on...

Ultimately, bond holders are volunteers who do Sythe and its users a service. I have no problem with them charging fees for their services as they're taking time to do something which benefits our users. I also have no problem with them having minimum donation amounts as they may not consider the $0.50 they may make from a $5 donation worth it (assuming a 10% fee).

If you'd all like to continue the discussion about this, feel free to. However, I don't plan on imposing additional rules on bond holders at this time unless @Sythe disagrees.

    -Matthew
