[DENIED] A new sticky thread in RAS? (or somewhere)

What's the suggestion?

Similarly to the blacklist of RS accounts which shouldn't be sold/rented as they've been scammed with in the past, I propose that a list is made with all banned Sythe accounts. Only mods would have access to this, and after dealing with a RAS/RABE thread, they update the list with a link to the report and the profile name of the individual.

Why is this needed?

Simply put, it'd be a lot easier to catch ban evaders before they have a chance to do any damage by having a list of all the banned accounts. This IS NOT like the 'notable banned users year 201x thread, which is intended for drama purposes. The purpose is to prevent ban evasion and any damage they may be able to inflict on innocent users.

I keep a notepad of all the accounts I've personally reported and got banned from Sythe, for any reason. There's a detective thread in the spam forum that I post on monthly with the list of names/accounts that have been banned that month. This isn't to brag, but rather make it easier for other users to search through those accounts/reports in order to report the individuals that decide to evade once again. I find the IP audit most useful, and it's incredibly easy to find an returning ban evader with an old report by simply checking the audit and checking if it's a home IP (by asking somebody, or just an educated guess by the previous ban as a result of a report).

I don't see how you would catch ban evaders like that?
The only way you would be able to catch ban evaders is a matching IP adress or a matching discord/skype if they're stupid enough to use the same one.

Not to bash the suggestion, I sincerely don't see it. Can you fill me in here?

 

Say you get banned today, and your account is posted in the list. You decide to ban evade in a week or so. I habitually check previous reports I've made, and their IP audits to see if they evade again. Somebody would likely pick up on the fact your new account is matching the creation/home IP of the banned one, and you'd get caught.

 

I doubt that moderators have the time to go through that list.. However, I do see your point.

 

I'm not asking them to use it, I'm asking for it to be made and updated. I know people like @Void @Wortel @King @Mr.King and @Sj would find this useful and actually use it, as would I. Maybe @Yousuckv2 as well!

 

Us moderators already have access to the userbase so I can't figure out what kind of additional profit we'll have from it?

Well if the suggestion is for regular members and not for moderators then it would fall under "showing reasons for banned members" on the dns list

 

Hmm, well maybe don't add the ban reason. I forgot that was on the DNS list. It'd still be helpful to see a list of the banned accounts to trawl through when bored to find a few vaders.

Although, as much information as possible is handy for antiscams and pardons, but I guess that's the duty of mods to deal with.

Hey, I outlined the use here:

 

I'm pro ban evasion unless its relating to scamming and frankly if I could I'd make it where only infractions never bans were handed out unless its for scamming(Which I have a hardline stance on).

Nothing personal its just how I personally don't want it to pass as I think ban evasion helps the forum survive right now, for similar reasons as to why they restricted banning. If the forum starts booming again someday then I'll likely change my stance and support ur idea but unfournately the reality is Sythe needs this activity even if its "Bad activity".

 

Well let's assume that everyone except you is normal and doesn't want rule breakers and ban evaders running riot...

 

I think this is a good idea and would support it. It would be nice to categorize it or have a list specifically for ban evaders only since those are the ones that bounce back over and over again.

Well said. This suggestion has been denied, this would not bring any benefits vs the tools we already have.
