[DENIED] Delete/wipe vouch threads of proven scammers/scamquitters

Title says it all. Just like how Sythe has said the DNT rank is the equivalent of bankruptcy, then let pardoned users start clean.

I still see that vouch threads of pardoned/banned users are clearly open eg. Homn6308s vouches! and its more than clear pardoned users do leverage on their previous vouches for a better start.

If you wanted to scamquit, fair enough. No one's gonna stop you. But the penalty should come with it that you lose all the rep you built up, no? Bankrupt people who are discharged also start clean, with their previous rep and client base etc gone. If you scam, you pay the price of losing your rep. Lets say in the typical scam-quit/scam scenario: this pardoned user once leveraged on his vouches to scam people. Are we gonna allow that same person to leverage on the testimonials of people whose trust he betrayed?

Implementation is pretty easy, really. At the end of every scam report, simply close the scammer's vouch thread along with banning. Any pardoned/in the process of pardoning users, admins could very easily find the vouch threads and wipe them as a condition of pardon. I feel its unfair to the rest of law-abiding sythe users who dont scam, and actually work hard to maintain the credibility of their vouches.

Then theres scamquitters who scamquit, then pardon and reuse their old vouches to reuse that same rep that allowed them to scamquit in the first place, as if they never even scamquit to begin with.

I meant that as a description of scamquitters in general, loads of names come to mind tbh. Where they'd leverage on their vouch count and rep to convince others to trade or go first to them, then the scamquitter runs off.

I support the concept of this, it makes complete sense and your reasoning why is absolute bang on,

How on earth can there be a balance between both?

 

Support, although it'd probably lead to less refunds. A system where all users can see previous DNT/TWC (and negative feedback) without digging through piles of old content could be more effective overall.

 

No Support, people would just ban-evade instead of trying to rebuild

 

no support as that takes away the motivation for people to pay back / rejoin the community. Most wish to come back to get their vouches and donor status back, so we would just have more ban evasion

 

Yeah unfortunately if we did that, we'd likely see a dramatic drop in pardons and repayment. What's to stop them from ban evading if it has the same effect?

 

I like the idea, but unfortunately no support. Alot of users on Sythe are pardoned users, and wiping all their vouches seems like an overkill and would give them less motivation to rejoin and pay off their debts.

On a case by case basis maybe, for certain individuals who are perm banned with no chance of rejoining.

Everything that user has done needs to be accessible and visible.

I would also not agree on a case-by-case basis as this would be unfair to certain individuals, or introduce bias.

 

I hate handling suggestions but I atleast know this won't be approved even though I partially support this suggestion. I often compare such things with IRL situations. If you ever end up getting jailtime you won't be disbanded from your family either, in the end you'll always be welcomed back aslong as you're remorseful. Thank you for the suggestion regardless.
