[DENIED] Delete the "Graphics Designer" Fun Rank (and my account)

Harmless rank that has been awarded to a few users who have been around in the Graphics business for a long time, and even helped shape it.

I don't see any reason to remove it, much like the Highly Trusted, Highly Respected, and Legendary these are applied at admin (And Sythe's) discretion and are rarely handed out as not many people deserve the funrank.

I do not support the removal of this funrank

 

Mind shining a light on some of the achievements or accomplishments of these legendary artists please?

Or a thread linking to what they have done?

I will personally make the threads and make it super easy for the busy staff to link each individuals thread and accomplishments to their ranks.

Would love to see these accomplishments, please list them! Thank you

 

no support this rank is a part of sythe history based on your logic donor ranks should be removed too as it misleads people into thinking those that donated are more trusted than someone who isn't.

 

For donor rank- you know exactly how much they donated, exactly how they received the rank, and how to get it.

Mind telling me how to get the GFX rank?

What accomplishments did the current GFX rank holders achieve? I just want to have this knowledge available to the public.

I can understand where you are coming from in terms of this being a “virtual” rank on a forum.

However, I am not sure if you are aware or not, but this forum most likely deals with a cumulative 7 figure amount of wealth exchanged per year. Thus, there is potential for abuse, wrongdoing, or otherwise if consumers are not informed.

Maybe checkout the marketplace section to see for yourself the amount of transactions being done?

Ranks aren't to be taken as a symbol of trust in general that's what everyone says and what I have read since being on this forum. So if you take a fun rank as any symbol of trust or that this person is good or not good at what they do without looking at their work. Then that's on you. No support.

 

Whether someone's art is good or not is a personal opinion, having some magical rank does not mean you will be guaranteed to be impressed by this person's artwork.

Nevertheless it is handy to know who in the GFX community does art for a hobby and has a reputation for a business on here for it (so at least you know they are established and they are worth at least having a look at).

With the above in mind I would say keep the rank.

Again, the misinformation continues. You say that Sythe hands it out, yet some staff say any admins can, others say only Sythe himself can.

At the very least, some more knowledge about this rank would be beneficial for this website. I see absolutely no harm in that.

 

The rank hasn’t been handed out for years.

It’s given out at will supposedly by admins or by Sythe himself for arbitrary reasons that have little to do with your GFX abilities.

This is what I mean when Sythe.org should be more open with the information regarding this rank.

 

I think this is a good idea. maybe not doodler but something just less official. Graphics Artist does make it sound like its something official, linked to the site directly, so maybe change to a different term like Graphics Legend or something? would still give the people recognition but seems less official and tied to sythe. dont see how that would be a negative thing for anyone.

If anything, fix the proportions of the rank. I'm unsure if it's just me, but it looks off/disproportionate.

 

I agree with @Pendulum here, funranks are fun, also agree w @SellerMan with the proportions, keep the rank, perhaps fix it's sizing.
