[DENIED] Can we stop giving name changes to people that have broken trade rules, banned/pardoned?

That have broken trade rules at all? Or for a previous amount of time.

 

Any at all ever. Name changes are a privilege and if they've done shady stuff in the past future victims should be able to come forward and know it's them, and new people trading with them should easily be able to look up their history without having to check their entire history of names.

Massive support. Perfect example that I wish didn’t even exist:

There are tons of reports under the name Bus369.
There are tons of reports under the name Divine.
There are tons of reports under the name Pain.

 

I support this

Obfuscation through name change for someone who has done shady things and has received punishment for it before is not a good thing. Name changes defintely are a privlege for donors.

Or maybe stricter standards/longer wait time. Maybe double than the current?

No support. Pardoned users deserve a second chance, or in some unfortunate instances even 3rd and 4th chances.

It’d be unfair to implement this now as a lot of pardoned users has already changed their name.

Agreed, it's quite contradicting if we do allow users to be DNT'ed though not allowing some of the simple options that come with it. Sure, Bus369/Divine/Pain might be a great example in this case, but keep in mind that he also partially ruins his reputation by changing his name. Aside of this, this only encourages people to create new accounts after having pardoned or w/e. With big donators this might be a smaller opportunity, though with users whom aren't donators I'm fairly sure they'd be better off to just make a new account after. No support.

 

No Support. I reported myself and was banned for that. Therefore I would not have been able to change my name. If someone comes back that means they repaid or fixed their wrongs and therefore they should get to keep the privileges they had before.

 

A more appropriate deterrence/punishment for scammers who try to come back is to delete/wipe their vouch thread completely.

Pardoning = a clean slate, starting afresh. Like yall said, clean slate. I'm not sure if any pardoned user actually does append their old vouches, but the threads do exist. So why the hell should we let them leverage on their past rep when their scam-quitting destroyed that rep in the first place?

 

Support. We should roll back the name of the user Pain back to bus369 or to at least his first name change. Its pretty obvious why he requests name changes so much yet has proven time and time again to actively participate in the shadiest trading practices.

 

Yall still remember the funniest reports on bus's retarded gold-selling service where buyers had to 'hunt' for his trader within 1min or lose their money? He called it 'gambling'.

I'm not very active/experienced here as I joined less than a year ago, and I can gurantee you other newcomers/members like me have had no clue bus was even Pain nor Divine. For awhile I actually thought bus was another person altogether till I read through some older forum posts.

Namechanges are horribly deceiving and allows people to hide their past over. And over. And over. Aka _____

On the topic of this suggestion, I do support it. A name change is a $200 donor+ privilege anyways, lots of people would still just make a new account rather than having to donate hundreds on top of repayment.

 

I like the idea of a wiped vouch thread. Like Sparta said, fresh start, fresh vouch thread.
I'm new to alot of this but I can't believe this bus/pain/divine guy got away with his buyers "hunting" for the gold they've payed for. Mental, gave me a good laugh anyway

 

i didn't even know this was going on but i agree completely. i don't think name changing should be allowed for anyone really.
