[DENIED] Ban false advertising

You'd never get a way with falsely advertising and promoting your product in this way in real life, why is it OK to sell your product on a false pretence on Sythe?

Buy/Sell markets are full of every user advertising to be selling THE CHEAPEST/BEST RATES on anything. If we take the 07 gold market as an example, gold is being sold between $0.53-$0.75ish at the moment, with each and every "trusted" user falsely advertising stating they have the best rates.

Surely if new users are visiting, they are expecting a certain level of trust and goodfaith from the "trusted" traders/big donors advertising here.

Suggestion: Enforce some trading standards ensuring people selling products for almost 50% higher than others (with similar rep) aren't allowed to blatantly lie.

I'm not sure where you're from, but it's illegal by trading standards in the UK.

 

We have a quantitative versus qualitative approach for false advertisement.

Qualitative marketing phrases would be something like "Best service", "Low prices", "Most trusted". This is simply marketing terminology to advertise your business as you are speaking on the quality of your service from your perspective. These terms are highly subjective and are decided based on who is scrutinizing them. When something can actually be measured it would fall into the quantifiable category. If a user is posting "Most vouched user", "$0.55/m", and "Voted best inferno service on Sythe", these can easily be verified and if found untrue they would be subject to our false advertisement punishments.

"Cheapest rates" is actually an interesting one. As it can be quantified, but the issue would be who is it cheapest for? This could be the cheapest the seller is willing to price it or it could be the cheapest at the time of posting.

If you find someone false advertising, you can report their post on the top right. Include evidence of what they are falsely advertising and a staff member will review it.
