[DENIED]Allow third-party Xenforo addons to be added to the site

Currently, there's 46 pending suggestion threads waiting to be implemented, though rely solely on either Matthew or Shin's coding skills. It's never been confirmed so far but by my experience I've noticed that third-party bots/addons have never been implemented. I'm assuming this is a safety precaution, which I would understand. Though said pending suggestions date back to even 2017 while in fact perhaps atleast half of them have already been made by Xenforo users and don't need to be coded again at all.

My suggestion here is to stop relying on Matthew or Shin's work and simply start using those addons ready to be installed, OR, start accepting applications or anything like that for coding processes needed for the website. We're heading to the year 2020 and to be fair some of those pending suggestions can quite literally be lifesavers for the community.

We're also still awaiting additional Sythe Gold functions since 2016, a User Center 7 preview since last year and many many more functions. I'm extremely happy for the amount of updates we've gotten from video this year, but isn't it time to have some progress and other stuff aswell?

 

This community likes living in a perpetual 2007. Change is not well received here so it's more of a community issue than a "stuff not getting done" issue. After all, this forum is dedicated to a 2001 based browser pixel game. And personally, I enjoy the lack of change.

 

Perhaps, but it reaches further than preference considering these changes are actually quality of life changes. Also, I’m not sure what version of Xenforo we are running but if we truly live in a 07 era where changes are no such thing then I wonder if security cautions are in place to prevent data breaches like in the past.

Also we’re supporting more and more games by time and while we started as a site that only supports RuneScape, we’re far beyond that now.

Sidenote: Even RuneScape Okdschool receives updates, so if this site is truly only dedicated to RuneScape that still doesn’t stop us from modernizing.

 

We do have some big changes coming shortly! There is a lot we'd like to do it just takes time to implement it all, and some things we unfortunately just can't implement with the current forum tools
