I can't set a default browser, it stuffs up my computer

Well i had firefox which was set at default, then whenever i turned on my computer and logged in.. it just turned itself off, and it kept doing it. Had to system restore to an earlier date.

Now im using internet explorer, not set as default because that also triggers the 'restart' attack. I think it could be a virus? But i've scanned with like 10 different products, got a good firewall running...

Can anyone seem to help?

Open up a webpage through a third party program, what browser does it load?

You might be getting STOP errors.

It doesn't load any browser, well msn loads internet explorer and thats about it. I don't have any default set at the moment

Go to the Control Panel-->Add or Remove Programs
and look at the left column. Then just click set program access and defaults and find the web browsers secion.

The problem with that is that my computer will just restart itself over and over again. I need to know what you think is making them do that.

I'm a little confused here... What exactly makes your computer restart? Does it happen randomly, when you open a web browser, when you try go get to the Set Program Access and Defaults window, or something else entirely?

Sounds to me like malware covering its tracks.

I have NOD32 and AVG anti-spyware running, i have comodo as my firewall and TeaTimer is also running.

I have scannned with ad-aware and spybot but they dont pick anything up, neither does AVG anti-spyware and NOD32
