Actually, at least according to NatGeo, the Mayans were expecting their gods to kill all humans and start over with another kind of humans. They also believed this has happened a few times in the past.

Hmm, that's not what sciencedaily tells me.

In fact, the Mayan calendar does not end then and there is no evidence to suggest that the Mayans -- or anyone for that matter -- has knowledge for the world's demise.

Though the Mayans where smart for their time I don't think their calendars prediction on an end of time in this cycle of life is true.

I hate how everyone thinks there's no proof to this. They say it like they've done a research paper on it.

The magnetic field changes (from north to south, takes around 100 years, in that time, we will be crisped, since the magnetic field protects us)

I personally don't beleive it's going to happen on that exact day, but you can expect it some day in my opinion.
