Deadmau5 - Strobe (The most beautiful song ever)

BE PATIENT, LISTEN TO THE WHOLE THING!

This is a long song (progressive house) and the intro takes about 3 1/2 minutes, although it is incredibly beautiful and is totally necessary to build up the song. This is one of, if not my MOST favourite Deadmau5 song ever created... I have been listening to this song for years and I just never get bored of it.

The last time I saw Deadmau5 live he played this as his "encore" song and it was so incredible... everybody threw their lighters up during the intro before the beat came in and people all around me just had tears streaming down their face and looked like they were in some sort of trance. ^_^

Amazing song. Listening to this late at night at like 2 am when driving home from somewhere is definitely the best time to listen to this.

 

I totally agree man. The song is so atmospheric, especially the intro. I have heaps of memories of different times listening to this song.... anything from drug trips, to lying there holding my ex-gf, to driving down dark, lonely, narrow roads or walking home at night with my headphones in.

But my favourite is probably when Deadmau5 dropped it live and I was smooshed in between a crowd of about 10,000 people, everybody crying and waving their lighters and absorbing the music together. Truly an amazing song & it means so much to me as I have tons of memories tied to it.

This is a great thinking song. Im not talking about when I am high, but I love to think to this kind of stuff.

 

I completely agree I like the way progressive house music like this works too, how it literally builds from nearly nothing like a tiny seed, until it climaxes into a massive explosion of orgasmic music and then towards the end fades away again into nothingness.

It sort of reminds me of an actual thinking process of an idea, and the music progresses in very much the same way that thoughts & feelings do. So this is a great song to just zone out and go on a little "thought trip" ^_^

 

Been a while since I heard this song. It's hard for me to enjoy a slow, beautiful song. But this does the trick.

 

If you like slow and beautiful, you should also check out "Raise Your Weapon" off his last album. Very beautiful lyrics & vocals. The only part of the song I don't really like is the dubstep drop that appears out of nowhere after 6-7 mins lol, but I found an 'edited' version on Youtube that just loops the soft trance progression and the vocals.

..but I actually prefer the drop compared to the slow parts of the song :laugh:

That Burial song is creepy as hell too, but very beautiful. I really enjoyed listenin to it and I'm downloading some of their music off Youtube now. Thanks for the find!

I honestly never was a fan of that song. Then I listened to it when I wasn't sober. I fell in love. It feels like you're in the middle of space, with no one around you.

I know exactly what you mean man. I was always a fan of the song, but I've had some incredibly intense experiences listening to that song before on drugs. The most notable trip I had was when I K-holed on some really strong Ketamine in a friends living room. We lay on opposite couches and listened to Strobe and floating through space together as the world melted away.

The only thing that kept me grounded to reality was the fact we were both reaching back over our shoulders and grasping each other's hands :laugh: It was such an intense trip.
