Dead and stuck pixels

My monitor has an area of dead pixels with some stuck pixels around it, is there anyway to fix this other than taking it down to the computer store?

How many pixels?

I have a few, but I just ignore them.

I doubt you got a protection plan from the store, so I doubt they'll exchange it for you for free.

The manifacturer will replace it, depending on the amount of pixels.

What brand of moniter?

I have a Samsung screen, no idea what model it is... 18 inch from corner to corner.

The dead area is an O shaped ring, the ring is about 1cm across, the lines of the ring are 1-2mm across. I am currently running Jscreenfixer, how long does it normally take?

What colour are the pixels. If their red/green/blue, their probably stuck. If white/black, their probably dead.

Is you have a lot, Samsung may exchange it for a new one, depending on amount of pixels.
