What's funny is it's propaganda, and nothing but propaganda. "Look at me I can pull the plug on my router," and others who simply DC at unlucky times vs specific teams/individuals.

Jagex doesn't have a shred of proof against most of them. Just two people i'm familiar with that I know 100% have never taken part of DDoS'ing are Take and jumpd, yet both were banned.

    http://ddosevidence.blogspot.co.uk/

Here's what actually started it all.

This is more personal than it actually is about DDoS'ing. People like Take and jumpd and others are better, by a long shot, than the majority of all other hybrids on OSRS, always have been and always will be. Mod Mat K and Ash are biased as hell and didn't legitimately investigate this, if they had, specific individuals wouldn't be banned; paraphrasing, "guilty by association" is what Take said on the DI forums, and that's exactly what happened.

IMO it's not even so much that a DDoS'er got banned, but more of the fact that the amount of collateral damage is massive. People really don't understand how many people who are innocent got caught up in this mess simply because they're friends with people in these teams.

As a side note, nearly all the videos on the blog post can be pitted against the equal, if not more, amount of videos where run-ins versus these same exact teams experiencing no DC's whatsoever. You can even find videos of Italians members themselves DC'ing at completely random times, yet no one screams "DDoS!" Why? Because the evidence that was put forth is almost pure propaganda against an entire group of people, regardless of who's innocent or not. Thus, we have people like Take and jumpd now banned.

The only people rejoicing over this are those who never stood at chance against them, or players like them.

I have zero respect for the OSRS community that took the bait and jumped on the band-wagon when they don't know the whole truth, the whole truth being that this has gone on forever on both sides, and as a result of their insanely stupid propaganda, people who shouldn't be banned, are banned.

And please, before any moron comes to attack me with "u support DDoS'ing!!" re-read my post and comprehend the full picture.

Not going to argue that Take probably wasn't involved in the world DDoSing. But i've been in teams/teamspeaks with him in the past where DDoSing has gone on and he's been an official rank and done nothing to stop it. Also there were videos of Jumpd being involved in world DDoSing a few months back, one of them when his name was "Snapback" multiple months ago, and another maybe 2 months back on his midlevel account "parisSHOOTER". He also gave his account to Bean aka one of the main DDoSers after he died in multi to Alliance for his bank, which is probably why the account got banned as i'm pretty sure any accounts that had anything to do with Bean ended up banned.

I'm not saying Take deserved his ban but in all honesty he was well aware of what was taking place, had multiple chances to leave the group and never bothered. And while his group obviously weren't the only ones responsible, they were responsible for the vast majority of the worlds being DDoSed. People such as Bean, Mike, and a few select others even had the audacity to brag about it and ask what was going to be done about them DDoSing worlds. Now that they're banned they're acting like they're being done some sort of massive injustice.

Whoever put the blog together definitely should have put more of an effort into separating names of those directly guilty and found in the videos to those who were just part of the group but not partaking in the world DDoSing. It is quite unfortunate that some innocent people were banned but like I said they just sat there and let themselves be associated with it. Did they deserve a ban for that? No. If I recall correctly Qlfy got banned on all of his accounts (he put a video up but then took it down, so he may have gotten un-banned) and Wiggled was banned on his midlevel account. Neither of them deserved to be banned either. I'd say Jagex will probably try and fix it and un-ban the people who were innocent but i'd be surprised if they actually did.

The problem probably isn't going to be 100% fixed by upgrading their protection, because the botnets being used to attack the servers can always be made stronger as well. This really only leaves them with the option of going after those responsible and those involved, and unfortunately will probably only lead to more bans due to being guilty by association. The only way this can be prevented is if people become smart enough to actually leave the groups or if they convince their friends to stop being retarded and stop the attacks. But I think it's pretty obvious that a basement dwelling fatboy like Mike isn't going to stop, and his friends are just going to continue to get banned until there's none left or they all stop associating with him. A lot of the kids on 07 are just hungry for pixels and aren't able to obtain them via legitimate means (Harrassers being a prime example) which is why they're getting involved and won't stop or want to stop until they get banned, by which point it will be too late.

I think more of the people who ended up banned were guilty than innocent, but if the innocent amount of people banned had been decreased to 0 that would've been great.

There's also a rumor that apparently more ban waves are coming as some of the DDoSers have already publicly stated they're making new accounts and coming back, as well as the fact that there were some people/groups missed by the first ban wave. Hopefully Jagex handles this one better but yeah. :/
