Darwins notes, Versus the Bible

upon debating an atheist the other day he said and i quote
"The bible is just story's of what people saw thousands of years ago, so you just believe what they tell you, Darwin actually did the research and proved evolution."

So my topic.

The bible versus Darwin's notes

The bible teaches Christians how to get to heaven and how to live and praise god, It tells us about creation and how we got here.


Darwin's notes tells us how animals have evolved to fit there surroundings, and thus we evolved over time from fish to people, according to our surroundings



The debate:
The bible is just things Christians are told? And that we have no proof?

Darwin's notes are just something we are told.
What if he just dicked round for 20 years and made it up, Did you personally do the research?
So then what makes Darwin's notes different from the bible?

the difference is that there are many many different things in darwins notes. its not all based on one or two things(god and heaven, etc.). if you knew a lot about them there are more things in them than just evolution. no, we can't go, yeah he's tottaly right it's all believable. but we can say its MUCH more believable than the bible.

Well, let's get this straight to start with. The Bible isn't simply "what people saw" it's the words of God inspired by God, written through the hands of men.

Darwin's Theory of Evolution is the widely held notion that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor: the birds and the bananas, the fishes and the flowers are all related.

So my topic.

The bible versus Darwin's notes

Once again, to set something straight, although I don't know if you are interpreting it as this or not. The Bible does NOT deny evolution, BUT, the Bible also states that somewhere down the line, evolution may of taken place, but God's hand was the factor in the existence of mankind.

Darwin's notes tells us how animals have evolved to fit there surroundings, and thus we evolved over time from fish to people, according to our surroundings

Like above, it's not just they adapted to fit their surroundings. It also states that everything, at one time, was indeed related. Meaning everything came from one common source or point in time.

The Bible does have proof, just not the type of proof science would classify as proof.

As for his notes, that is indeed an interesting point.

Agreeing with everything Dorito said, also the bible along with many other religious items are so old... The bible has been around for thousands of years, so if it was just a a book of someone telling people what to do it would have been thrown away by now, but it is still used for its accuracy of history...
