Alright, I've gone through the whole process of jailbreaking my iPod touch and have Cydia on my iPod. I find the app I want (winterboard) install it and it says reboot, but my screen goes black and won't come back..

I try restarting at step five as it says, but then that basically just restores my iPod to the original unjailbroken form. I'm confused.

This guide will show you how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2g generation!
YOU MUST READ EVERYTHING!
1. If you are not already, update your iPod to the latest 2.2.1 firmware. You can download
this from the downloads page of TysiPhoneHelp.com.
2. Begin by installing the LibUSB file. You can find the installation file in the main
Jailbreak folder.
3. Drag and drop the "files" folder on top of the "Shortcut to (C) drive" file. If you have
problems doing it just open up C:\ on your computer and drop it in there.
4. Plug your iPod up to the computer and close itunes if it opens.
5. Open the jailbreak.bat file and follow the instructions it gives you. You will be asked to
put your ipod in DFU mode. You can do this by holding both the home and power button
for 10 seconds, then releasing the power button while you keep holding the home button
for 8 more seconds. When asked to enter some commands copy and paste the
commands below in the window. When it asks you will need to type "go" and "/exit".

6. Now you need to restore your iPod in iTunes to the firmware i have created for you.
You can do this by opening itunes and holding in the shift key while clicking the restore
button. It will then ask you to select a firmare. Navigate to the jailbreak folder on your
desktop and click the "customFW.ipsw" file. Now give it time to restore. Once its done
your computer will say it doens't recognize it. Thats a good thing.
(If you get any errors while restoring you will need to run the "jailbreak.bat" file again)
7. Open the boot.bat file in the jailbreak folder and follow the exact same instructions as
in step #5.
8. You now have a jailbroken iPod Touch 2g! Open iTunes and set up your iPod.
EXTRA STEP: *important*
If you want to reboot your device you will not be able to boot it up it will just be a black
screen. This is perfectly fine. All you need to do is do as i said in step #5 to get it to boot
back up.
