    Sellers asking for too much.

After being on this website for 5 years, and buying more gold than I wish I had, its time that I talk about the most aggressive website that asks for too much personal information. Full disclosure: I have paid the website "crazy.gold" over $600 for 6 different purchases in the span of 3 months. I verified it was me 2 different times, the first when I first visited their page. And again when I took a break from the game, returned and went back to them two months later. This all happened April-June of 2019. So at this point, all 6 purchases have been made and I return to the website the same week as my 6th, to try and buy more gold. This time when I am trying to place another order, I am given a message that they now need MORE verification info. I have never tried to cancel a transaction/issue a chargeback from my bank, aka giving them no reason not to trust me since I have been buying from them legitimately for months. Upon trying to place my 7th order, I am met with a message of needing to PROVIDE MY PASSPORT. They say they do this with ALL CLIENTELE (very, very worrisome if this is remotely true). So, naturally, I ask them what in the **** they would need more information for, since I have given them no reason not to trust me, let alone my PASSPORT. That is almost like asking for someones Social Security Number. I do not want this post to be taken down, rather pinned on their page for future customers. I am not saying these guys sell the personal info they receive, but rather am warning everyone to choose somebody else because I have never experienced this in 5 years of using this website. I may not have all the ranks and everything that other people do, but I have spent thousands and thousands by finding sellers through this website. These guys never scammed me, they always delivered the right amount. They have no right asking for peoples' personal info like a PASSPORT. Stop sellers from doing this especially since information like a passport can be valuable in the black market. If you want to delete this post because it is here-say, I would love for you guys to take photos of the conversations you kicked me out of (resulting in me not being able to review what was said) to show the real conversations. These guys ask for too much, especially when I gave them absolutely no reason not to trust me. They want your personal info, do not give it to them. I know I may be redundant in this but I cannot express enough how dangerous this can be for buyers who do not know any better. It is almost criminal what they are doing (probably is criminal given they have way more info than any seller could need and just have it "sitting there"). I have tried talking/confronting them on several occasions, through the direct messaging on this website, through their livechat on their website (which results in me being kicked everytime without a response). For those of who think I should be kicked from their website when messaging them this, remember that I've been a customer there who spent over $600.

That website was hit by a scammer using fake IDs very recently, which may be why they've stepped up loss prevention measures. You may want to use Bitcoin instead, as almost all websites don't require personal details when paying with crypto.

What happened exactly? Scammer dude just made a bunch of PayPals corresponding with the names on the fake IDs?

While I do agree sometimes the info they ask for seems too invasive, they only ask to protect themselves. They have every right to ask for whatever they want. If you don’t agree with it, I’d just find a different seller. Use BTC to pay, and you can buy direct from sythe members who aren’t big gold selling websites. GL.

If you dont feel comfortable with their anti-scam measures, dont buy from them. Who's to say you could've been building up a good rep with them for 600$, then proceed to chargeback them for 6000$ because you got buyer's remorse? No one can tell. They arent your mother. Its a free market. If you find what they do restrictive, move along to another seller.

Because I've had only one sythe account for 5 years and I have never issued a charge-back or anything else of the sort. If I had, I'm assuming there would have been repercussions to my account whether its being banned, or a caution when trading banner. Just found it very sketchy, especially when they "claim" that all their clientele have given them their passport for verification.

The ID was copy/pasted from internet, they're fault for that. Asking for Passport is too much agree. If they are worry about chargeback don't let something so simple as copy/paste ID fool you and be smart if you going to run big business... Welcome to risk of accept Paypal

Next is social security number, line need be drawn, period. You miss main point of poster, limit what is or not allow from gold site to be request. They were fooled by copy/paste ID off internet.... Don't make everyone else privacy at risk, what if database is hack? What if one day decide to scam quit? See point? There need be rule to ask for whatever gold site want to. If is reasonable fine, if ask for birth certificate social passport for out country travel massive fraud no. Should not be allow

Thank you man for understanding the point of my post @PAK. I just get tired of uploading my personal information so often, even to the same websites after some time has passed. I understand lots of you are wondering why I havent invested in cryptocurrency, I guess my reason (or excuse as some of you would see it) is that I'm too much of a casual player/customer to bother with that. Thanks for the input though. Especially if the dilemma that @ariabot stated is true. Which, if it were true, seems like its the sellers fault for having MY PERSONAL INFO breached. Just a lose-lose situation in my eyes that I'm having to provide information like a passport for them to trust me again. Not trying to sound like I have a tin foil hat on, but they could easily claim they're breached to gain access to more willing customers' personal information.

Hi there @jlew32 it's very simple why people ask for it honestly.

With things like PayPal, it has buyer protection, not seller protection which it makes no difference how much you have spent in that prospective. Whilst I do understand you do not feel secure, you are also not required to buy from that person or any other vendor in fact, which in the end gradually they will all ask the same thing.

It isn't that we require to have your information stored away to sell, but in the event one day you go "oh fuck it, i'm taking my money back" we can take safety precautions to avoid losing money due to the persons stupidity.

Hi sythe.org wont police what sellers ask for on their own websites.

If you think they are asking too much you are free to go to another goldseller or choose not to buy gold

Next time please make your post in paragraphs - it can be hard on the eys to keep up and read a fat block of text.

But like some others said, if you would like more privacy try using Bitcoin. You WILL have to provide some personal details to get set up with an exchange, but that's with a certified huge company such as Coinbase - not with a gold seller off of Sythe. Look into it or ask for more information!
