Custom Computer Build Help

Hi all,

Looking to build a new PC for around $1200-1400 usd.

I usually use my PC for web surfing with 50 tabs open, runescape, league, pubg.. etc while hoping to render videos at decent rate.

My friend told me to buy this, hoping for advice if you see improvements can be made:

Not sure what all this means but I am open to an Intel build as well. Happy to discuss

NOTE: I custom built my PC.

Processor: Intel-i7-7700k 4.2
GPU: Nvidia 1070 Founders Edition (8gb dedicated)
Cooler: Cooler Master - Hypr 212 EVO
MOBO: Gigabyte - GA-Z270X (LGA1151)
RAM: 16gb G.Skills Ripjaws DDR4-2666
Storage: 120GB SSD + 2TB HDD
Case is your option(i have a corsair)
PSU: Supernova 650W

Well, you don't really tell us much about your usage...

If you want detailed build advice you gotta be detailed in your usage and expectations.

I'd gladly help you make a list of components that would be suitable but I need to know the following:

What are your expectations of the device?

What software do you currently use and do you think you'll use in the future?

Do you expect to record your own videos? if so, how much recording? This is a concern for the amount of storage you will need.

What kind of resolution monitor are you going to be using? Do you want it to have Freesync or G-Sync? This is important to know to determine what the most suitable graphics card will be.

Is power usage a concern for you? Is noise a concern for you?

Do you intend to do any overclocking? (this isn't usually good value if you are going for newer components)

If you have any additional information you think to be relevant, let us know.

 

I think you could do a lot better for the price.

 

If I were you, I would add a AIO water cooler to the system as well. It will help out with temps being that you'll be running so much stuff at once. Also max out your RAM, 32gb would be perfect. That's what I have myself.

 

I would prefer intel over AMD anyday.
