csgo discussion already a bit inactve

I suggest the CSGO Discussion could maybe expand into Steam Discussion for targeting a bigger area?

I think it would attract discussion such as GTA 5, TF2, Dota 2 and other new/popular games etc.

If this flies I'd like to suggest an Automotive section as well.

Basically A sub section everyone can discuss what car they own any problems they have with it get some advice or show some changes they made to the car I'm pretty sure this forum has a lot of guys who own cars and would like to share there babies.

I'll support this since I play CSGO once or twice a week.

I like this idea. I've been seeing a few DotA 2 posts on the market for example. For all we know some of those would like to partake in a discussion but there is no section for it. With the summer sale starting in less than 2 weeks, it would be a great section to also discuss what games people recommends getting.

 

That would open the section to all kind of steam games, i like the idea.

"Steam dicussion" doesn't make any sense.

As gaming mod I feel it's my best interest to comment, but I don't like this one, honestly.

Steam isn't a genre, system or OS. It's a shitty company that monopolizes PC games and offers very little support for their many errors.

The "gaming general" section needs more activity, and if you'd like to discuss something on CS:GO or any game, simply bring the discussion there.

somewhat agree with what blade said, the gaming general as it is doesnt have enough active users to warrant a whole new section just for steam.

We should turn some attention to the Gaming General Discussion rather than opening a new Steam Discussion subforum.

 

Seems like a good idea, although it would be cluttered with the other genres of games so, there should be sub sections with different genres such as rpgs, mmos and shooters.

To counter your argument, I'd say that's exactly why we would need a "steam discussion" section. We can't stop Steam from being a monopoly in the PC gaming world, but we can still profit from it? Every time I had problems with Steam whether it's a game not running, error codes, game overlayer freezing, etc, where did I first turn to? Google. We could attract new users with an established Steam section with discussion about Steam, PC games, game support, client support, and more. People are going to look for answers when they have a problem, and a majority of people turn to Google to solve that problem. Established Steam section = better site SEO.

Let's not pretend that Steam is this small thing and doesn't need a section. It has over 125 million active users. Yes it's a platform and not a game, but I would think that in itself warrants a Steam section. The Rs Gold buying/selling section is the only section that matches Steam Sales in activity.

I am neither promoting nor condoning the idea of a Steam Discussion section but to write it off that it doesn't deserve a section is ludicrous.

 

You have not understood what he is saying. Steam Discussion where you discuss games that are on Steam and not the platform itself does not make sense since there is massive amounts of overlap between games on Steam and games not on Steam.
