CSGO 122 wins - still Silver 3

Pretty cool how we both ranked up around the same time. I think I was at almost 100 wins when I was Silver 3, I couldn't get out of there. I eventually hit Silver 4 and I needed 10 wins in a row on top of 4 before that, 1 loss and 1 draw. Got nova 4 over a month ago and still here. I don't play much because I can't anymore. I get absurd ping during the day for some reason that's been going on for months now. My ISP sucks.

just gotta get past all the hackers or play after a vac wave, just got my lem back myself.

 

i use to be stuck in silver hell as well, but this was like a year or two ago. now mgs are the new silvers :s

I'm MG1 with 40 wins. Wins are important but if you want to rank up consistently and avoid deranking you need to focus on round wins and MVPs. K/D is more or less irrelevant, I ranked up to GNM on my 10th win and my K/D was shit but I had 7 MVPs.

 

i had a smurf i sold i dropped 50 bombs in every game, aswell as bomb plants had 0 losses and stayed under 5 deaths was placed at gold nova 4

after not playing for a while and rank disappeared; I played one "good" game (win) and got back my mg2 LOL

 

Yeah if you don't play for 2 weeks, your rank gets removed, and you have to win a game to have your ELO "re-evaluated"

Wtf I finished my placements 10-2 top fragging every game and I got placed on LEM on my smurf. My brother who was playing with me got Gold Nova 1.

 

I reached Global around when the arms deal update came out so something like August 2013 and I wondered then how they placed me and what system had decided that I deserved that rank so I asked one of the devs and he told me they use the ELO system that chess uses and then over multiple chats he explained more in detail exactly what functions = what in cs and I in turn conducted my research on the ELO system and that's how I figured it out. I would write out the actual functions and variables he gave me but I recently heard from a friend of mine who still plays mm that they changed the values of the elo and now loads of people are deranking and global is harder to achieve, not sure if that is true since I quit playing mm in 2013. Please bare in mind that the system CSGO uses is based off of the elo system, emphasis on the based part, for those of you that want to understand it way more in depth and past the "What I need to do to rank up" mindset I would suggest you start by googling Glicko 2. Hope this post helped someone get on the right track to figuring out what they want to know! Also @OP there is probably a few things that need to be changed in your gameplay or setup that is holding you back and once you make these small changes you will jump out of silver, if you would like I can review a demo of yours when I have time and maybe give you some advice if you would like it.
